I think it's a perfectly reasonable delusion and reality, and I am right there with you

This made me cackle
And also, Hell yeah they did.

😂😂😂 i think Chris Cornell is one of the few people from that era who wasn't in QOTSA for at least 10 minutes. Alain Johannes played with Cornell and QOTSA so there is a six degrees of separation, but no Pokémon style evolution, sorry. (SO livid)

Yeah I should probably think and plot rather than overthink

This idea is currently eating my brain, I fear many more hours will be lost to it

brb reading the Hunger Games wiki to remind myself about the Districts and try and work out who goes where.

The revolution is successful with help from all the best series characters, no one (good) dies, they all have a lot of emotionally compromised sex.
(I had a lot of time to think about this while sitting around waiting for an appointment that was running very late. Maybe too much time.)

Shane won his his with excellent strategy and by sticking to the rules when no one else was. Total opposites. But eventually Shane discovers that Ilya's slutty egotistical persona is just a cover and he has been secretly putting together a revolutionary force with other past winners...

They're winners from consecutive games who hate each other (obviously) but who are being made to get married by the President for some upcoming celebration. Ilya won his games by being sneaky, and seducing other players and then, quite literally, stabbing them in the back...

@foxxcub.bsky.social I just had a 3am revelation: Shane and Ilya's wedding photo if they existed in the Hunger Games 'verse. Yeah?

It's like LOTRiPS all over again. With just as much batshittery. I love it and fear it equally.

The Globe does a thing (or they did, I think it's stopped now) called Read Not Dead where they get a random bunch of actors and do a "rehearsed reading" of a play, usually a very obscure one, and that is the only time I've known it to be performed in the last 20 or so years :(

2 months ago 1 0 0 0

It is hardly ever performed. Possibly because it's just attributed in part to Shakespeare rather than being part of his "canon", see also Arden of Faversham, Cardenio, Edward III, and Loves Labours Won (all of which I have seen!).

Sidenote: Sir Thomas More is the only play (allegedly) written by Shakespeare that I've never seen performed on stage. I had tickets once but was ill so had to miss it. It's so rarely performed.

And people say Shakespeare is not relevant to modern life. Fools. Also, McKellen is magnificent.

I think HR is some genetically engineered experiment created to harness the powers of all fandoms. Hopefully for good. But, eh, it could go either way.

I got one of those a couple of days ago. I have never felt so ancient.

I am 100% behind this idea

It starts with Ilya dressing up as Frank-N-Furter for Halloween and Shane's mind becoming the living equivalent of a 404 error, yes?

Let me suggest an alternative plan wherein you do write such a fic

Absolutely. It would have healed over all the schisms and brought everyone back together under a collective flail. And it would have been beautiful.

Literally the first thing I did when I got home was dl and watch The Cottage. It soothed my soul.

Much better thank you. Still some lingering issues but it's all under control x

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii! I shall turn the fannish switch in my brain back to on and start spending more time here immediately. (Honestly, I spent Christmas in hospital and my main concern was that I couldn't dl and watch The Cottage when it dropped.)
