Going forward, being intentional and making sure you're doing the right tasks to achieve your goals will become more and more important.

What scares me is that people ask AI questions we used to ask friends and family. Will we get to a point where we trust and value AI over the people in our lives? And is that the society we want to live in?

Another category of productivity apps I think will increase in popularity is focus apps.

My current top three note-taking apps:
1. Obsidian
2. Capacities
3. Mymind

My favorite AI workflow is getting Claude to pull my social media posts from my project manager and schedule them in my social media scheduler. I could do it myself, but I never did.

At this point everything moves so fast that an app I wanted to review has already pivoted before I'm able to write the script.

Yeah, there should be a capture system and a thinking system. In your capture system you can capture everything, but you only move over the important stuff
I think the future of note-taking apps is apps that help you think and go deep on subjects!

Am I the only one who has felt a bit of AI anxiety lately?

If AI writes all your articles, is that not the same as hiring someone to write for you?
I'm not talking about using AI as a tool when you write. I'm talking about outsourcing your writing.

The people saying everyone will just build their own apps with AI are the exact people who think in systems.
Most people don't. They just want something that works.
I agree! I generally donβt think that AI will kill SAAS but Saas apps will need to change.
Nilay Patel from the verge calls it "software brain." It's the tendency to see everything in your life as a system that software can solve.
Most people don't think that way. And that's exactly why AI won't replace SaaS apps anytime soon.
Everyone's asking: will AI kill SaaS?
I don't think so. But I do think we're watching a lot of apps quietly panic trying to figure out their role.
I think that is super important!
AI sneakers is exactly what I need
I have noticed something really interesting. The more I use AI, the more I start using notebooks as well.
I have been negative about AI and the AI hype. Let me be clear: I am an AI user, and I wouldn't be able to create content the way I do without it.
When I first got into productivity, I never thought I would build a system that embraces friction.
What is one app you can't live without?
@craftdocs currently has my favorite implementation of AI β one that is actually useful.
I use digital tools and AI to get things done. I use notebooks to think things through.
I have written a lot about AI scepticism lately, but I am not an AI sceptic. I just feel like we need more nuance in the discussion.
I think the best thing you can do in an AI age is to build a hybrid productivity system. The analog part is for your brain, and the digital one is for the AI.
Do you think that articles written using only dictation apps like Whispr Flow are okay?
I think the future of PKM is apps that help us think, not traditional note-taking apps.
Keep in mind that I am only guessing, but that is my guess.
So do we think Claude is alive? π
Bluesky needs more people who are always online
I am not an AI hater, but currently it feels more like a business product and I understand why people hate it. It takes a lot and does not give us a real product back. "Give me your resources and I'll take away your job" is terrible marketing.
Yeah, I have been thinking about that lately. Most people do not think about their life in processes and that makes it hard to build "the perfect app."
