I dont object to people being wealthy, owning a $10m holiday home

I object top them abusing their wealth so they contribute less

I object to them abusing their power so they get an ever larger slice rather than helping everyone else

The rest of us dont pull this kind of bs

don't forget that David Seymour is the only MP in the last decade who has openly implied he wanted a Ministry bombed

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirkโ€™s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we donโ€™t need to honor him or โ€œcontinue his work.โ€

Charlie Kirk spent his lifeโ€˜s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and weโ€™re now not supposed to mention that because itโ€™s not polite.

Letโ€™s make one thing clear from the start: Charlie Kirk was the victim of a shooting in a country where he, along with other right-wing extremist influencers, have been inciting violence for years. โ€” Kirk is neither a martyr nor a hero, he is a cause.

Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life.

The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.

The funniest thing about this was the guy from the Employers & Manufacturers Association on Morning Report saying they weren't focused on removing existing entitlements, and while sick leave entitlements have doubled, actual use has only risen from just under 5 to just over 6 days per year

I've started occasionally getting "day in the life of" content in my fyp of people in my field of work & I want to know who told them that was a good idea ๐Ÿ™ƒ I like my job well enough but I can't think of anything worse than watching someone try to glamourise a day of slide decks lol

On one hand I'd love to see Aucklanders gather to protest outside Destiny Church about their hateful shit.

On the other hand those assholes are clearly just waiting for the opportunity to get into a fight. There's clearly many there who'd love nothing more.

Pride and Rainbow event in Auckland disrupted by Destiny Church Around 30 adults and young children had to be barricaded into a room in a library in West Auckland this afternoon, when a group linked to Destiny Church tried to drown out a Pride Festival Event.

Destiny Church know full well that they're terrorising a room full of children. They don't care. Can we finally start calling it what it is? www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

When whฤnau and tamariki are having to hide behind locked doors while a crowd tries to break them down you have to stop calling it a difference of opinion you shouldn't do anything about.

Two attacks, using force (people were injured at the library, "breaking through" police barricades here), against the queer community of Auckland in one day by Destiny.

We are owed an explanation as to why there are thus far zero arrests. There may BE a good explanation, but if so we are owed it.

Govt smashes record for laws passed without select committee scrutiny The Government has forced more legislation all the way through Parliament under urgency in its first 400 days than any since at least 1987.

Democracy dies in darkness. National are shoving Bill's through under urgency, limiting select committee input, and as we saw over the summer, limiting the opportunity for public submissions. They've also fired science advisors and not filled the PM's science advisor role.

The reveal that Auror provides police with direct access to their customer data without warrants or review procedures shows how supermarkets and big box retailers are leading a shift towards monitoring every customer as a potential criminal.

Absolutely no one should come to the US for the next four years if they can help it, for anything. Cons, weddings, vacations, etc. The danger is in the wild unpredictability of the federal government and getting in when federal agencies at our borders have been given the all clear for bigotry.

Anyway I loved Wicked. I think there are valid criticisms (sacrificing scenes <1 min in length that add a wealth of depth to characters, in favour of dragging Defying Gravity out to FOURTEEN minutes for example) but I do not consider colour palette one of them ๐Ÿ˜…

The EO defines biological male and female by the size of the reproductive cell each produces. But the fetus is asexual at conception. Bipotential (sexually indeterminate) gonads start to form the 5th week after fertilization, and both male and female ducts form, regardless of X or Y chromosomes.

That doesn't work if the whole film up until One Short Day is crazy colourful and full of flashy outfits. It's also why Madame Morrible dresses the way she does compared with other university staff - it's a clue that she belongs to Emerald City, to the Wizard.

Having a less saturated palette - and the uniforms - at Shiz serve the same purpose in Wicked as the sepia in The Wizard of Oz. It creates contrast for when Elphaba and Glinda go to the Emerald City - they need to be awed, excited, overwhelmed, and we the audience need to feel it with them.

Dorothy the outsider, and us the audience. Colour is one way to separate the everyday from the novel, excitement, and wonder. In Wicked, we're set fully in Oz - which for us is magical and strange but for our protags it's not, it's their normal, so it needs feel a bit more real.
