yep, I read a bunch about lucid dreaming in the past and this is one of the the "reality checks" you can do while you're awake. Train yourself to look at your phone in waking life and if it makes sense and you can use it, you're awake. If not, you're dreaming. But somehow I've never committed to it.

yes. texting is the worst. this happened last night. Just could never even get the texting app to come up...

it seems it's because the part of our brain that helps with processing the kind of info that would be on a phone screen (like time, numbers, text) doesn't fully function during REM sleep. so pots and pans is probably more just tapping into a fear of not being prepared (which I also have)

I often find myself in dreams trying to use my phone and failing.

This is a widely recognized phenomenon in dreams studies and it's frustrating as hell.

I want to go back to my pre smart phone days when every dream couldn't suddenly become a nightmare just because I need to use google maps.
