new york times post with caption “More than a quarter of congressional Democrats called for President Trump to be removed from office and questioned his mental fitness after he threatened to destroy “a whole civilization” in Iran. The lawmakers suggested that Trump’s threats were grounds for Congress to impeach him or for Trump's cabinet to strip him of his powers through the 25th Amendment.”

the fact that it wasn’t all four quarters is absolutely insane

BREAKING: Democrat Alicia Halvensleben has defeated Republican Scott Allen in the Waukesha, Wisconsin mayoral race, flipping the seat.

This marks a major political shift in one of the most historically conservative suburbs in the Milwaukee area and follows a night of major shifts away from the GOP.

This is so bittersweet it makes you want to cry out of frustration; a sense of utter fruitless waste; and an appreciation for an institution doing the right thing

Richard Neal didn’t go to a single caucus. Springfield? Nope. Holyoke? Nada. Chicopee? Not a chance. Westfield? Nothing. Webster or the Brookfields? Ha! Charlemont, Worthington? Please. He hasn’t held a town hall in Pittsfield or the Berkshires since 2017.

Went to 9 rallies, were repped at over 20 across the district, 500 signatures in hand (and probably 1,000 outstanding) and our current Congressman has nothing to say.

I need your help before the Q1 deadline in a few days. 10,000 people at $10/mo and we win. Can you chip in?

Picture of Gloria Steinem with
caption-

In 1970, a powerful senator asked Gloria Steinem why women needed equal rights.

“Because Senator, you wouldn't want our restrictions”

Her answer made him shift uncomfortably in his chair.

Context:

On May 6, 1970, Gloria Steinem testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the Equal Rights Amendment, challenging assumptions about gender equality

The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA); this amendment, which has not been ratified, secures that one's rights "shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."

During the ERA Hearing Steinem demonstrated that laws and policies limiting women weren’t natural but human-made systems that could be changed. She pointed out that men, too, were constrained by gender roles, such as the expectation to be the breadwinner and avoid vulnerability.

Steinem's activism focused on treating individuals as equals, not making assumptions based on gender. She made the point that true equality benefits everyone, breaking down the systems that limit opportunities. The failure of the Equal Rights Amendment, three states short of ratification, showed how difficult it is to change unjust systems, even when fairness is the goal.

Her message remains relevant today. Resistance to equality often disguises itself as concern, but it’s rooted in protecting privileges that benefit some while limiting others. Equality should feel inevitable, not threatening. It’s not about rejecting change, but accepting that discomfort during transition is evidence of the need for progress.

Gloria Steinem fought for women to be heard, have a seat at the table, & equal rights.

She proved showing up, speaking up, & not giving in matters

The SAVE Act suppresses women’s voting access

Gloria understood your Vote was your Voice

Airlines are cutting back flights because Trump's actions have caused oil prices to surge. You'd think the Secretary of Transportation would have things to keep him busy.

The richest Americans saw their net worth soar 120% from 2017 to 2025.

The top 1% now control $55.8 trillion in assets — more than the G.D.P. of the United States and China combined.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

Still wondering if inequality is out of control?

Rand Paul: "As far as reasons for the war, there have been many different ones floated, but none have been very convincing... we were told their nuclear weapons were obliterated, and now we're told their nuclear weapons are just moments away from being a bomb. I don't think the arguments are valid."

America Still Has a Mission in the World America’s greatest influence has never been domination. It has been demonstration.

After WWII we could have gone home and left the world to burn.

Instead America rebuilt Europe, defended trade routes, and helped inspire the fall of the Iron Curtain.

Because America has always had a mission.

One we're dangerously close to forgetting.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics. It’s the root of all evil in Washington.

You know what the email didn't do?
