There are so many things in this world I love—the joy of experiencing them is near painful in its intensity.
My heart is a ripe plum bursting with sweetness, welcoming the teeth of the world.

Semi-realistic portrait of Jack Abbot from the The Pitt. Portrait is from the shoulders up, with Jack looking slightly to the viewers left.
I finally got some free time after long period of none--and I decided to draw #JackAbbot from #ThePitt.
Rep. Delia Ramirez to DHS officials: "I have as much respect for you as I do for the last white men who put on masks to terrorize communities of color. I have no respect for the inheritors of the Klanhood and the slave patrol. Those activities were criminal and so are yours."
I really miss our old family cat. He was me and my mom’s baby and the king of the castle. He passed away about two years ago. I wish I could lay down and take a nap with him one more time.
Okay, this looks super cute.
I have reached the “I hate every single thing in this world and hope everything explodes” stage of tiredness today. I should be burrowing into a bunch of comfy bedding like a small critter and instead I am in an office cubicle. This timeline is so fucking stupid.
Unnamed ICE agent straight up murdered this woman, whose name was Renee Good. This video show his gun FULLY unholstered not even a full second after her brake light went off, which means he already had had his hand on the weapon to pull it BEFORE she even pulled forward to leave.
Absolutely vile.
I feel like a desiccated sea sponge with how dry and flakey my skin is—yet nothing on earth can stop me from spiritually imitating those monkeys in Japan who luxuriate in hot springs all day. That is to say: I will not stop taking hot showers. They’re the only thing getting me through the winter.
Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.
Digital illustration of Morpheus from the tv show Sandman. It's from the shoulders up and he's in profile, staring out of frame towards the viewer's right.
Tom Sturridge crushed it as Morpheus. I hope to see him in more roles. #morpheus #thesandman #tomsturridge
Digital black and white portrait of Day from the tv show Foundation. The image is from the shoulders up, with him laying on his back, looking up and out past the viewer.
Another portrait of Day. This one was actually drawn before the one of him in color. #appletv #foundationtvseries #leepace
Digital portrait of Day from the tv show Foundation. It's from the chest up and character is in 3/4ths profile, looking past the viewer towards the horizon. He's clad in a blue silk robe.
Drew a picture of Day from Apple TV's Foundation, played by Lee Pace. #foundationtvseries #leepace #appletv
I think the President of the US responding to a question about the murder of a journalist with "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman" is probably pretty bad.
Countless people lose healthcare vs my 300th flight this year doesn't leave on time
Every once in awhile, I think of my favorite “…the fuck did you just say?” phraseology, which is from Homer’s Iliad, proving we have never, ever changed as a species, only less fancily inclined.
“What nonsense has escaped the barrier of your teeth now?”
[quoting a tweet from isabelunraveled in which she rails against depressing books that get branded as “great writing”]
A key point in Fahrenheit 451 is that books were banned because they made people depressed and uncomfortable. The novel's protagonist, Montag, is taken into custody after he reads a poem that makes a woman cry because she realizes the emptiness of her life.
I think a lot of the terror of the modern age can be understood by the fact that the Internet accelerated the development of the worst type of person, the "Anti-Intellectual Nerd."
I cried yesterday after reading about the very first Christmas tree erected in Rockefeller Center. It was started by a bunch of Italian-American construction workers in the depths of the Great Depression. They decorated it with paper garlands, a little tinsel, some tin cans. Phenomenal.
anything that at any point you loved but then became too cool for, know that someday you will turn back to that thing and say "oh. no. you were fine, you were more than fine. it is I who was cringe"
I think we might actually be in hell. (I know we have to keep going—but JESUS CHRIST.)
Having a coffee in New York City with the incredible @neilnewbon.bsky.social
Snow in New York the other night.
Embroidery helps, though
A poem by Langston Hughes titled "Tired". It reads as the following: "I am so tired of waiting, Aren't you, For the world to become good And beautiful and kind? Let us take a knife And cut the world in two -- And see what worms are eating At the rind."
I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.

The Burning.
They know.
Society hasn’t learned yet that there is no 7 second delay on Cher.
SHE’S CHER FOR FUCKS SAKE!
What was the last small, unnecessary “bougie” item you purchased to chase the phantom of luxury/distract yourself from the horrors? Mine was a small jar of ginger infused honey from the grocery store.
The first time I saw the painting “Mt. Equinox, Winter” by Rockwell Kent was in the Art Institute of Chicago and I cried.
