These two are now headed into an expensive, nasty runoff where they'll spend millions tearing one another down.
Meanwhile, Talarico can be out building a coalition and talking to voters about lowering costs and actual governance.
Let's talk about Cornyn.
53% of Texas voters view him unfavorably. His net is -28. One in four Trump voters say they WON'T back him in November.
The base is abandoning Cornyn not just in the primary but in the general. He is extraordinarily weak. And probably a bad bet for Donald Trump.
The favorability ratings are something else entirely:

🔴 Cornyn: –28 net favorable
🔴 Paxton: –24 net favorable
Beyond the horse race, Talarico is winning over Texans while the Republican candidates are way underwater.
