can this be a solution?

guy who has a fetish for "anime girl in an american flag bikini" art because he views it as an extension of his fetish for "heroine is corrupted into joining the villains" hentai
I would think it is correct. If he is the first to digitize it and share it online, he has a responsibility to source correctly.
... Which means they should have far more information on it, or at least be fielding questions about it.
(I would also argue if you are sharing something like this, you wouldn't cite it as "Chicago", as if that is a publication house. It's a fucking city.)
Makes sense. I did see that there is a source for it -- Midwest Manuscript Collection, Auditorium Theater programs, 1888-1938, Box 3. Newberry Library.
I looked this up myself and it does not appear that this collection has been digitized? Meaning this individual would have been the first.
Still, I am not finding a lot of examples of complex advertising like this for Quaker before 1883.
Long thread, but I agree this doesn't pass the sniff test on either the history of how advertisements are designed/typesetting history, or the general company history.
Reverse image search took a bit, but I seem to have found the original artwork. Possibly a wood carving? Might have been replicated and used elsewhere, but all earlier ones seem to use a different artwork of a Quaker.
Therefore, my argument is that this may have been an independent retailer advertising it, which doesn't make sense. Seems a little odd to put this much effort in. As you have noted, seems too complex for the technology at the time. Reinforces questions about legitimacy.
Their website notes that it was a magazine advertising campaign. The brand was nearly bankrupt and was undergoing change in 1881. Possibly limited to Ohio at this time.
Possibly ahistorical too. Source says that it is from Chicago, but the company's own website says national advertising did not exist until the following year.

It really always is funny o'clock with the official dogboner wrist watch.
I broke up with my fiance and abandoned my son and all I got was this awesome Dogboner merch!
Still one of the funniest things to come out of old Weird Twitter
^^^^ this is me which is why I let my partner do all this stuff. I make a complaint like this and then she goes "I set this up like this a year ago"
I've only used it to replay the Ratchet and Clank games but it's nice to use at least just to hop right back in and not have to bother with menus. I have considered picking up some other older games that are less forgiving on saves. Also, I just forget to save sometimes!
What bsky.app/profile/euro...
There's an emulator my partner uses that binds save and load state to a button combo on controller. Means you can sit back and also use save states. On steam deck also!
I woke up from a nap and Bulgaria might have a majority government???
Okay I'm done. I just really hate seeing that article every three months.
Same situation here - you do not "end homelessness" in one or two terms, or with a specific program. Homelessness is a persistent issue - it will exist as long as there are people. It will always come under attack from people who sincerely believe that some people just don't deserve support.
Consider, for a moment, that any political action takes time, effort, and a fucking lot of losses. You don't wake up one day and suddenly the fascists have all handcuffed themselves because you won an election. You pick it apart piece by piece.
Psst, it is primarily being reposted by Americans who whine all day about how bad America is and how good Europe/wherever is, without actually doing anything to address those issues. "Look how good they have it! America sucks! Anyway there's just nothing we can do about it :("
There is good work being done here, but the article has consistently been shared by people expecting it to be a silver bullet argument killer.
We have always known social housing has worked. There are a million and one better arguments for it.
This specific article will be the death of me. It was outdated almost immediately, partly because it was poorly put together to begin with. To keep sharing it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how politics actually interacts with issues like homelessness.
This guy keeps reposting this half a decade old article, completely ignoring that Finland has had a change in government and homelessness rates have been rising again.
