oh no thats honestly fine, generally was saying you can tune what you dont want out rather than limiting your hardware and software choices, and predicate is insanely powerful on nix too so you can allow steam or iwlwifi for example on a otherwise clean system!

Correct! just a giant blacklist on build and boot from what i understand, thankfully not a requirement (2/5 of my pcs can even boot it) i liked having a FSF certed distro as base then i built up what i needed atop, which is actually why I liked Nix so far (moved from a Cachy + Parabola fleet)
