Data centers are the things people are trying to build in the small towns of holiday hallmark movies before falling in love and remembering the true spirit of the season (maximizing profits for shareholders)

Allbirds pivoting to AI will only strengthen the resolve of the “birds aren’t real” crowd
No one ever told me life was going to be this way (baffling headlines hourly as we slam into a great filter)
I’m not worried about the GOP initiating “the end times.” You shouldn’t be either.
But if you dwell on the Fermi paradox enough, you start to wonder in the grand history of life how often a civilization triggers its own extinction event and slams into a great filter.

The complaints and criticism of Super Mario Galaxy are very overstated. Fun, solid movie. The one thing I totally agree with that I saw someone say was that it was made for people who watch YouTube Shorts. Still a fun flick despite the pacing.
I saw that video and somehow didn’t make the connection until now. I need to go back and rewatch that!
This Minecraft one gives me similar vibes: youtu.be/3V7Rvo4Gvic?...
Haven't read it yet, but I was captivated for a full 1h45m by this YouTube documentary about a Doom (video game) custom level that was mysteriously published online and turned out to be much more--a beautiful work of non-linear narrative inspired by HoL (sorry, spoiler) which is how I learned of HoL
Let me know if you do!
I hate horses. I’ll check it out!
I like weird and borderline experimental stuff, so I loved it. It’s not for everyone. It’s very puzzling and subversive. It’s one of those stories where every word/character seems to matter and feels meticulously done, like the rough parts *feel* important as you read, and you start to question it.
So I’m slowly working on adapting/retelling the story behind my first game, CodeWordPlay, and I planned it out in a really weird and crazy format, and this is one of those lightning rod moments where another work is quickly becoming heavy inspiration. I feel like retreating to a mountain cabin rn.
Fuck if I know, man
I do dashes instead of underscores:
- if I’m holding alt/opt I can arrow to diff words in a long file name and it stops at the dash
- (for both dashes/underscores) I don’t have to deal with pesky CMS file uploads replacing spaces with %20. That’ll likely change with our new site at work though.

Longtime college friend of mine, Mike Prinke, was among those laid off at Epic Games: he has been fighting terminal brain cancer, and now he, his wife, and kid, have no income or health insurance.
Sharing here in hopes it can reach the right people on their behalf.

Wait no don’t do that
I am a better person for not using generative AI, if for no other reason than I see the way it’s absolutely melting the brains of people who do.
It’s going to be really easy for some of you to thrash Nintendo when they reveal this is all leading to a multiverse smash bros movie and I need you to know this is exactly the moment in the comic when someone shushes you and says let people enjoy things, don’t be that person
