I've been to NY a couple of times (love it), but most of your lingo I've gotten from US literature and TV over the years — I grew up watching Sesame Street, so I've known about American cookies (and green things that live in trash cans) from a very young age. 😂

I love scones but rarely have them; I drink tea (I don't like coffee); I like biscuits (they're what you call cookies) and our cookies are flat biscuits, usually with chocolate chips in them. Our chips are your French fries and your chips are our crisps.
