Manipulation for gain is the name of the game.

A quick Google gives me Jason Nixon, Rajan Sawhney and Tara Sawyer, pluc chair Brandon Lunty.
3 UCP legislature committee members forced a vote through to deny me, the proponent of #ForeverAlberta petition, Alberta’s largest ever petition, to appear before the committee and speak on behalf of the nearly 500,000 Albertans.
This is another move to assist the separatists.
Many parallels to the convoy action and undertaken in the most receptive part of Canada. I won't hold my breath that the UCP will see this as a problem to solve either.
The foreign interference is here, and has already attracted truckloads of eyeballs. Will the UCP do anything about it?
TL;DR: Use our software if you wanna turn your democracy into a dictatorship! We have a FAQ page!
Nailed it!
“When a Premier claims that delays are caused by a proponent’s inconsistency — and that proponent can demonstrably show otherwise — it doesn’t just undermine the specific argument. It erodes trust in the entire process.”

“It is not an exaggeration to say that the minority report was gerrymandered to benefit the UCP by significantly diluting urban voters.”

Alberta premier rejects Opposition claims UCP interfering on electoral boundaries
Commissioner Susan Samson says “something or someone” sure did, but she doesn’t expect to ever learn the truth.

Who needs a water council when we’re replacing water with selenium?
I wonder why? Alberta is the richest province in Canada with the lowest tax rates!
This couldn't possibly have anything to do with the constant negativity Albertans hear from my UCP gov't and our endless attacks on Ottawa.

Billions in foreign real estate deals while serving as head of state.
Billions in crypto deals while gutting regulation of the industry.
Suing his own government and negotiating a settlement funded by the taxpayers.
We're so numb to Trump grifting off the presidency that hardly anyone notices.
“We’re not increasing investment in public schools as the economy has grown,” @alonghurst.bsky.social said. “And at the same time, private schools are continuing to see stable public funding.” @policyalternatives.ca #bcpoli www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...
In a nutshell. 😊
Alberta Poli-Sci 113 Exam: please put these activities in the correct order
--think up policy idea
--send policy idea to a referendum
--get referendum results
--ignore referendum results
--make the decision
--take policy concept to the legislature for debate
--implement what-ever
Referenda in parliamentary systems yield results that are binding if the party in government wants to treat them as binding, sacrosanct if multiple parties agree to treat them as sacrosanct, and completely disposable if the governing party or a new government chooses to ignore them.
This was adjourned by consent this morning. No date set for next hearing.
Did Ford’s Gravy Plane fiasco show us power of protest leading into April 25? Can we stop Alberta’s Danielle Smith from gerrymandering? What can Canadians DO to protect our democracy at all levels including Carney’s PMO? 🇨🇦

Of course, we *did* have a referendum on this.
In 2021.
Ordered by the UCP government.
And Albertans voted 'No'.
The website is still up.
It says: "The results of the referendum are binding. Alberta will continue changing their clocks twice a year."
So our referendum touting Premier of Alberta isn't all that into referendum results unless she agrees with the outcome or the results support a particular political agenda. Got it 🙄
Another voice raising concerns over Alberta's plan to redraw the electoral map, with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association saying the UCP's plan "casts a doubt over the equity and fairness of Alberta’s electoral process."
Britain’s populist-right Reform UK wants to put local government pensions to work for its policy aims.
But critics see it as high-handed meddling.

1 yr ago I wrote a massive thread on @iea.org huge AI / energy report.
WELL it's one year later and they've released an update, but notably, there is no chatbot. Well....I'm going to read it anyway, and you're all going to get spammed with notes :)
that's means a NEW ULTRATHREAD 🧵
This is outrageous!! #DanielleSmithIsMAGA
This is kind of huge actually.
Palantir V @PalantirTech X.com Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense ot the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public.
🧵 Why is Palantir advising on foreign policy?
This bit is interesting:
“National service should be a universal duty. We should, as a society, seriously consider moving away from an all-volunteer force and only fight the next war if everyone shares in the risk and the cost”
