The energy crisis is the climate crisis. It’s time the Government recognised that - and stopped burying its head in the sand.
You can contact your local TDs to support the motion here: action.uplift.ie/campaigns/ta...
That’s why I’m bringing a motion to the Dáil this week, calling on the Government to act decisively and get us back on track with our climate commitments. So far, they’ve fallen behind and failed to deliver the progress needed.
First shared by @greens-efa.eu almost four years ago, this message feels just as urgent today amid a deepening energy crisis.
We can’t keep ignoring the root cause: our dependence on fossil fuels - driving conflict, damaging our environment, and pushing costs ever higher for ordinary people.
Any questions?
I'll be hopping on Reddit Ireland all day tomorrow for an "Ask Me Anything" session.
See you there 😉
The energy crisis IS the climate crisis.
And we have a Government that is ignoring its climate commitments, at the long term expense of all of us.
Show your support for our Earth Day Motion, demanding that the Govt recommit to its 2030 climate targets and steer us away from fossil fuel dependency
Extra costs associated with the illness, the impact on individual's income and extra long-term costs were discussed during the session.
Research from people affected by cancer was shared too - waiving hospital car parking charges was top of the list of requests from the Government. (2/2)
What is the financial cost of having cancer?
Today, the Oireachtas Cross Party Group on Cancer explored this topic, facilitated by the Irish Cancer Society. (1/2)
Today I am voting no confidence in the Government.
They have not only failed in their reactions last week, but are now failing to lead us away from our fossil fuel dependence.
Until we break this addiction, Irish families and businesses will all be at the mercy of the whims of Putin, Trump...
I hope tonight represents a new dawn for Hungary.
Voters of all political views rallied behind Tisza and Prime Minister Elect Péter Magyar. It’s vital that the new Government rules for all the people, unlike the past 16 years.
One thing that struck me at Budapest Pride last year was the amount of locals who said to us that they were proudly marching for the first time.
They were sick of the demonisation of minorities, the grotesque corruption and the gradual chipping away of democracy - and that Orbán needed to go.
We’ve been v clear what measures we think the Government should take: www.greenparty.ie/news/greens-...
Yes this Government needs to do more to help in the cost of living crisis, but abolishing the Carbon Tax, the one tax that is ring fenced to help the most vulnerable, would be the wrong thing to do.
Can the government cut carbon tax, and what would happen if it did? jrnl.ie/7007865
No Billy, but it’s directly beside the Tyrrelstown Community Centre.
Some welcome news for residents in the Kilmartin area - new shops and amenities are close to being finished in the Kilmartin Local Centre development.
More apts. will also be delivered here alongside the Kilmartin Town Centre development across the road, with a new creche being delivered here too.
More public holidays please!
It's good for our health, good for our families and good fun!

My colleague @oliver.ie strongly makes the point that Government shouldn't be setting up a talking shop about Cork City's future, while at the same time ignoring the City Council www.independent.ie/regionals/co...

A great week of canvassing, thanks so much to the amazing team who are out with me every day knocking on doors, having valuable and engaging conversations. Special shout out to GPNI and DLR Greens who covered lots of ground in East Wall

Big claims, but a weak case presented by the airlines this week on the Dublin Airport passenger cap.
EU legal opinion is that the passenger cap is likely lawful.
The “Open Skies” argument is untested and unproven.
What sounds convincing…
isn’t holding up in court.
It was really special to join Danu Community Special School to mark the opening of the new modular extension to the school. Thanks to Pat and all her team for providing so much support to the students in the school.
Proud to sign the Save Our SNAs pledge this evening outside the Dáil with other Opposition parties.
The Green Party supports their Alternative Circular, which would protect supports for the most vulnerable children in our school communties.
Safety works have been long requested by those who walk, cycle and drive here - I'd like to hear your feedback though on this temporary solution. (2/2)
🌳ASHTOWN GATE JUNCTION Update
BusConnects will eventually deliver a permanent redesign for this junction, which is at the crossroads of 3 jurisdictions; Fingal County Council, Dublin City Council and the OPW (1/2)
Very best of luck to our Green colleagues contesting the Danish General Election tomorrow 🇩🇰 🗳️💚
I know Pia Olsen Dyhr and the Socialistisk Folkeparti have been campaigning non-stop and polls are looking good 💪🏼
A hugely enjoyable day canvassing in Galway with @niallgalway.bsky.social
Thanks to everyone who spoke with our canvassers 🗳️💚
Let's Go works with adults with Down Syndrome to help them develop their professional skills and build a career, and their stories and development through the organisation was really inspiring to hear 😊
And today it's World Down Syndrome Day 😊
It was so lovely to pop into Let's Go in the Docklands earlier this week for their own celebration of the day.
