Yeah they were absolutely changing it to fit the tone! They kinda made Rocky less helpful, in my opinion. Like Grace was the smarter one and that was not always the case in the book, they learned from each other.

And to be clear, it wasn't *bad* for what it was - they did well with Rocky for the most part, but they never had a chance to truly show how amazing he was.

And little stuff like him wanting to show off how he ate really rubbed me the wrong way.

I also genuinely don't know how anyone who hasn't read the books would understand what was going on. It felt like almost nothing was explained or given a chance to breathe.

Made me realize this story really should have been a mini-series and not a movie.

I finally feel brave enough to say it - I was disappointed by the Project Hail Mary movie. I know it's a movie but so much stuff was cut out/changed that the story didn't have time to flesh out or weigh on you. Any problems were solved moments later.
