I do think we also need to have honest conversations about how it’s not as simple as “go to therapy”. Cause all therapists aren’t good ones. We say every day it’s a lot of dumbasses with degrees. So while saying go to therapy is a start, also be honest about the long process it is to find a fit.

Black men need to decenter patriarchy in order to fully embark on their mental health journey. Vulnerability and accountability are the antithesis of patriarchy, and you won’t be able to progress emotionally if you’re not able to be 1) soft and 2) look at that man in the mirror.
