also this is in some importance sense a definition of a "tweet". A twitter is an app that has/emphasizes tweets. By this take, bluesky is slightly more of a twitter atm than twitter.com is, because the latter allows super long posts, which don't compose like tweets do.

Hugely in favor of this. Specifically what makes something a twitter afaict is that each utterance is a standalone object that can be amplified & quoted. So anything where comments/replies are stuck to top-level posts is not a twitter.

This is the way because it actually contributes to the decorporitization of language and turns "tweet" into a genericized word, which is an intrinsic linguistic good

it's actually pretty legit

just make sure you go for the 9 holy ideas instead of the 9 dualistic confusions

I hope you're going to make sure that there's at least a type of utterance that is not editable, because that's really important for preserving the sense of playfulness as far as I can tell. it makes it way more improvisational & spontaneous to have it be just "out there now", un-perfect-able
