They want to ban the teaching of the unpleasant facts of American history because people might conclude injustices in the past that contribute to inequalities in the present should be rectified, instead of their belief, which is that some groups of people are inherently superior to others

An excellent question
You speak the truth
Thank you! The ineptitude in play is genuinely terrifying. There are far too many people trusting in our institutions when it should have been obvious for YEARS that we have not done enough to fortify our democracy. (Also, do people even know what gerrymandering does?)
Honestly, I don't think the Dems can spot the difference between strategy and their own assholes. I say this as a leftist. I get that this is all terrifying, but good god, they need to serve the people or go home.
My mom depends on Medicaid. She is 79 and on a fixed income, so her only other option is me. I am disabled and am on Medicare. I did tell folks it would get this bad this quickly but few listened to me - I hate Cassandra's curse
Aw, yay! I love you ❤️
The wild thing about dynamic illness is how easily I forget how it feels on the other side. When I am ok, I forget how bad it can get. When it's bad, I forget how it feels to be better
Ffs. They were *literally here first*
But of course, this was never REALLY about who was here first. Or fairness. Or anything based in logic at all. Say it with me:

It was a pleasure to chat to Zeinab Badawi about why we should be reading more books about African history written by African writers for @fivebooks.com

Shocked, I tell you
The people banning all DEI in Government & pushing its elimination in the private sector, who fear mongered about CRT, who is banning teaching about the Tuskegee Airman in the Air Force, who repealed Affirmative Action, & who bans books by Black authors—want you to know that they don't see color.
NOPE.
Native healthcare systems for the most part are federally funded. It's part of the treaty obligations of the so called united states to provide that care. This is due to our unique government to government relationships with "america". 1/2
My father taught me something worth knowing: a wise person can learn from anyone, but a fool will never learn
We must be wise in order to endure the days ahead
Ironically, he was one of the biggest fools I have ever known. But he taught me how to find truth, inadvertently
I dearly hope I am wrong about the things I see ahead of us. But do remember, some people in the u s of a have had fascism this whole time
