A great gift for those interested in Irish Heritage. The tours and online content is well researched and presented. Also the site tours and community are wonderful ways to explore Ireland heritage sites guided by local experts, at ana accessible level.
Among good company in this year @iaiarchaeo.bsky.social JIA. My paper explores phasing of 12/13th C. Buildings in Connacht and regional patronage of stonemasons. - Thanks to Dr. Kerri Cleary for all her editorial guidance. I have big shoes to fill as I step into the editorial role.
You'll have naked pagans climbing the front door soon, better get @voxhib.bsky.social round to sprinkle some anti druid sentiment
ECHOES OF THE ISLES is a multidisciplinary project funded by Heritage Strategy Fund @heritagecouncil.ie for Atlantic Technological University, exploring the interface between art and digital heritage www.digitalheritageage.com/echoes
I'm finishing up a report funded by RSAI Bevir Fund 2025, exploring evidence for 12/13th architecture in Co. Mayo using 14th C. Taxation returns. You can view the initial results here experience.arcgis.com/experience/8...
Well based on the election material put out by candidates you needed to be a mother, grandmother above all else. I think this was more of a blindside by the campaign managers than the Irish issue. People can learn Irish. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to have kids.
I don't think the vote reflects a big move to the left. Low turnout, and record spoilt vote. Clearly the left presented the best candidate, but 50 something % did not vote. Largely the central vote is bet. Still a good successor to MDH.
www.digitalheritageage.com/echoes check out the Echoes of the Isles project with amazing artwork by @johnflynnart.bsky.social and Róisín Doherty Artist really enjoyed working on this @heritagecouncil.ie funded project with ATU.ie
It has finished its task cavasing for the new president and is now returning to its lair for another 7 years. You should have checked your car when you left Rathcroghan after visiting Oweynagat.
Don't be handing him his P45 yet. He is still our president until midnight on the 10th.

I've experienced it on calls recently. Thought it was just the perks of rural living
I did not know they were that big. Will have to make my way there sometime.
Hands off our Islands Neil. Galway won them fair and square in a game of handball played on the cliffs of Moher.
Is he missing a round tower there?
Takes notes - fix PowerPoints
To the soundtrack of Enya.
Probably got lots in the maze of tunnels linking monument. They will tell stories about him for generations until they get misrepresented by questionable click bate media articles
It's always a great time of year for heritage events. The project was lots of fun. Contemplating expanding to the West Coast and other ATU campuses next year.
Feeling left out Marion. No mention of Echoes of the Isles Exhibition at ATU Galway Dublin Road Library open 10-4 18th-22nd. Some amazing artwork by @johnflynnart.bsky.social and Roisin Doherty - Funded by @heritagecouncil.ie www.heritageweek.ie/event-listin...

Fragments of a lost high cross.

Yes, I just need to borrow someone from NMI for the day. I've only ever seen the plaster cast of the Ratoo. I'm sure it was carved later, though, it's an odd figure. There is a scan on our project page.
One we still need to record.
Even the small fragments can be beautiful
