Tim Bale, a professor of politics at Queen Mary University of London, said the British government has few options left to manage the relationship. “The prime minister has seen all his attempts, many of them utterly excruciating, to keep Trump onside crumble to dust,” Bale said. “So the king is about the only card the government has left to play.” He added that few expect lasting change. “Nobody holds out much hope that it’ll make any difference in the long term but it might stop him mouthing off for a few days at least,” Bale said.

Is the telephone conversation between Pope Leo & Trump still expected to take place? (Reported on R4's Sunday last weekend). It just might help 🙏 (or am I being delusional now?)

It's a total shower of a government, led by a man without any capacity to control himself, and with nobody around willing to intervene and - if necessary - unseat him via the 25th amendment. There is no longer any other rational, objective way of looking at the crisis in Washington.

The Vice President of a fundamentally un-serious nation. America, 2026.

What makes this even worse is this is happening in America's
