I want to try another city in Spain & also Amsterdam again for at least a month.

I don't think I could live there, but I think another visit will confirm it for me.

A lot of ppl will change their mind on where else to live once they see visa & residency requirements.

Especially in many of the vacation cities, they'll let you visit, but they don't let you stay. While daily expenses might not beef high, the income requirements for visas & residency are.

One thing about it, you must have a growth mindset to be an expat bc living in a place day-to-day vs. spending 5 days vacation are very different things.

You're not going to *any* of these countries and turning them into a mini-USA. YOU will adjust or you'll leave lol

I already live where I want to in the US.

Outside the US:
-Mexico (I already have legal residency there.)
-Portugal
-Croatia

I would do extended stays in other countries listed in the quotes, but I would not live in them long term. Vacation cities do not a home make, so to speak.

Ppl think if they change their clothes they'll blend in and be treated like a local. But let me tell you something, locals can sense an American from 4 blocks away lol

We have a way about us that ppl just *know*. You not slick! 🤣

I am a strong proponent of travel, but that means also being clear about the fact that anti-Blackness is G L O B A L.

*Never* disregard the context of local Black ppl in any country you visit. We say that about the US and it's true in every other country too.

And if you don't speak the local language(s), you may never know ppl are talking about you while smiling at you.

You *think* everybody is being nice simply bc you cannot understand anything but English. Passport privilege + language barriers make a lot of places seem comfy cozy.

Yeah, I think a lot of us don't realize when we travel, people *know* we're Americans.

So even without seeing the passport, "Passport Privilege" kicks in to our benefit and the things that local Black ppl experience don't happen to tourist Black Americans [as much].

Pulled up to MOSAIC today and got lost in the crates 🎶🪩. Nothing like flipping through vinyl gems in Seoul.

I once made a quick trip to Québec on Labor Day. Didn’t realize Canada celebrates it at the same time the US does. I had planned to go to a credit union to get cash and exchange money. They were closed. That was my first lesson to check for holidays before planning a trip. #BlackskyTravel

Our Response to Mississippi’s Age Assurance Law - Bluesky A new Mississippi law requires us to block full access to Bluesky unless all users complete age checks. We have concerns about this law’s implementation.

With legal challenges to this law pending, we cannot justify building the expensive required infrastructure.

For now, we have made the difficult decision to block access in Mississippi.

Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.

While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.
