if I were Elon Musk I would spend less time worrying about the dangers of humanity staying earthbound and more about the threat of my primal horde of offspring banding together to overthrow castrate and cannibalize me but maybe this is just a STEM vs humanities thing

The Last Good Dad — Parapraxis On Fredric Jameson’s pedagogy Nico Baumbach

"Marxism, for Jameson, never provided some orthodox solution or ready-to-hand explanation for understanding our world but provided interpretive problems that always needed to be reinvented and reimagined."

“Beckett poses the decisive antithesis: an avowed process of subtraction. Instead of omitting what is temporal in existence—which can be existence only in time—he subtracts from existence what time, the historical tendency, is in reality preparing to get rid of.”

What’s New About Woke Racial Capitalism (and What Isn’t) – Spectre Journal Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò and Enzo Rossi explain how "woke" racial capitalism reveals contradictory tendencies in the material structure of capitalism and its ideological superstructure.

"Rejecting identitarianism...means abandoning the neoliberal dream of impeccably multicolored boardrooms. But it does not mean retreating into a tone-deaf class-only politics."

The Lord gave us one Stuart H.M. Hall decades ago to teach us that we must talk about class and race together. I understand that Dem thought-leaders can't/don't read, but still, let's not embarrass ourselves here.

Mark Fisher, “Curtains and Holes: David Lynch”

“Instead of looking inside (the character) for some final key to the film, we must attend to the strange folds, burrows and passageways of Inland Empire’s weird architecture, in which no interior space is ever secure for long, and gateways to the outside can open up practically anywhere.”

Yet, I think this example could help illuminate what Jameson is trying to argue in this quote.

Also, one could argue that redistribution is always ideological, as in it allows for the ruling social order to remain intact (think along the lines of what Oscar Wilde argues in “The Soul of Man Under Socialism”).

I won’t pretend to be a knowledgeable on the economics of feudalism, so I could be misrecognizing an instance of feudal ideology for a Utopian component.

While I don’t want suggest that communism/socialism/Marxism can be reduced to redistribution, this passage does presents the Utopian view of a social order in which wealth is shared with the lower classes.

Yet there are certain points in which it portrays a Utopian conception of how society can be arranged. In act IV scene I, Gloster makes an interesting comment: “So distribution should undo excess, and each man have enough.”

I’ll take a crack at this: first example that comes to my mind could be King Lear. Though play appears to mostly reinforce the ideology of monarchy (the plot centering the portioning of land to his three daughters).
