The SVP believes no child should grow up in poverty.
The Government’s Child Poverty Strategy is a welcome start, particularly the ending of the 2-child benefit cap.
Now delivery & impact are vital. Every child deserves dignity, security & the chance to flourish. #childpoverty
Ending the cap will bring dignity, security and hope to families across the country.
The SVP exists to support those facing hardship and believes every child should have the chance to grow up free from poverty.
*A thread 2/2
The SVP warmly welcomes today’s announcement that the Government will scrap the two-child benefit cap from next April.
This long-overdue change will lift countless children out of poverty and prevent many more being pushed into hardship in future.
*A thread 1/2
We urge that reforms are implemented with compassion, respect for every person’s value, family unit and support for those escaping danger.
*Thread 3/3
Any reforms must uphold fairness, human dignity and protect the rights of those fleeing persecution.
*Thread 2/3
The Government's asylum reforms mark a shift in the UK's approach. The SVP works with those seeking safety in the UK, many of whom arrive experiencing profound trauma and hardship.
*Thread 1/3
