I am a little saddened that my hate for genAI has not been sufficiently expressed to also be blocked by this person. Work to be done, I suppose.

It's hard for some people to see/think about, I do understand that.

Even the things I've seen that acknowledge it treat it like it was a tiny, very contained inconvenience.

Speaking as broadly as possible to protect folks, both physical and mental health issues are cropping up much more frequently and intensely, from staff to patrons.

Managing a team post-COVID onset has, in my case, been completely different than managing pre- and some days that is really hard to cope with.

We had a chick hatch at work today! Actually, three but we whisked the first two off to their caretaker. You can see the one left this afternoon, in addition to some chicks trying their hardest to emerge.

We're expecting another three to hatch in the next day.

It is Monday morning, I'm running on fumes, and have to wait for Saturday to get a day off. I have an outreach visit I need to scrape performance energy together for.

For my National Library Week, I'd happily take time off rather than food/snacks.

I wish the place we hired had done a better job documenting what they planted - we asked for specific plants after tons of research two years ago, they kind of followed our requests. Kind of.

I also wish we had been better about grilling them for that info and care instructions.

I've been trying to get outside once a week, at least, to keep on top of the invasive plants trying to grow in the garden spaces.

Sometimes I'm guessing, based on photos from the planting last year and the placement of old growth. Anything I'm not certain on stays until I get more clues.

Anyhow. I pulled this month's money today and I'm already almost out after just 30 minutes of walking.

The need out there is great.

If they're scamming or lying, that's on their character, not mine.

Most people feel ashamed to ask for help.

If the money goes to substances, there's a chance it may prevent worse issues from going cold turkey (substance dependent). There's a science to getting clean and my judgement won't help.

Every month, I pull cash to give away to those expressing need, no questions asked.
