Assemblymember @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social is a true @uft.org ally. His work to give #RESPECTforParaprofessionals on the City Council last year, has provided us with early momentum in 2026.
In Albany, we can’t wait to support our teachers & #FixTier6 together!
We cannot accept gun violence as inevitable.
That’s why I’ve partnered with @ebottcher.bsky.social to require gun stores to show graphic images that reflect the reality of having a gun in the home.

Honored to meet mayor-elect @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social yesterday (along w/ @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social). Even more honored that NYC's stellar press corps appreciates our @thegraduatecenter.bsky.social mapping work so much: x.com/katie_honan/.... Video clip & kudos via @katiehonan.bsky.social. Thx!
The bulky, green sidewalk scaffolding that wraps around many buildings in New York City is as familiar a sight as rush-hour traffic — and just as reviled. But on Tuesday, city officials unveiled six designs that reimagine the structures. nyti.ms/3XxvNLU
We're finally shedding the ugly green scaffolding!
Back in April, I passed a new law to overhaul NYC's broken scaffolding system.
Today, @NYC_Buildings unveiled new designs "in the biggest reimagining of the city’s ubiquitous sidewalk sheds in decades."
NOW IN EFFECT
Local Law 128, sponsored by Keith Powers
This law codifies NYC’s cooling center program, requiring the commissioner of NYC Emergency Management to designate cooling centers during heat emergencies and ensure at least 7 centers per 100,000 residents citywide.
A big thank you to New York City Council Member @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social for sponsoring the paraprofessional RESPECT check bill, and for his continued advocacy for public education and the dedicated public employees who provide essential services in our schools.
Yikes. Awful.
Brad Lander, Kathy Hochul, Mark Levine, and Keith Powers flyering.
Not to mention the elected officials in support, who have fought for a more affordable city and state for years: Kathy Hochul, @bradlander.bsky.social, Donovan Richards, @bkbpreynoso.bsky.social, @marklevinenyc.bsky.social, @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social, Erik Bottcher, and many more.
A good morning on the UES with @governor.ny.gov, @marklevinenyc.bsky.social, and @bradlander.bsky.social in support of more housing.
Vote YES on props 2-5.
Earlier this year, the City Council, led by @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social and @ebottcher.bsky.social, passed a legislative package that provides a strong foundation to get scaffolding down and improve safety and design.
But Mayor Adams has barely put it to use.
We gathered on 34th & Broadway, with a backdrop of buses crawling along, stuck in midtown traffic.
We were joined by NYC DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez, Senator @bradhoylmansigal.bsky.social, AM @micahlasher.bsky.social, & CM @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social.
The 34th Street Busway isn’t negotiable.
