Most remember Paul DePodesta for his time with the Athletics or Dodgers or his time in the NFL
I remember him for his time with the Mets. He brought cohesion to the organization's scouting and PD in the early 2010s
Can he do it again with the Rockies?

I think Carl Sagan’s “Pale Blue Dot” statement is one of the most profoundly moving things our species has ever created for that exact reason:
Both Griffin and Holliday were also No. 1 overall prospects in their age-20 seasons at the time of MLB callup
The Pirates calling up Konnor Griffin a week into the season has shades of the Orioles sending Jackson Holliday to Triple-A for 10 games to start 2024
Baltimore called him up on April 10, putting him on a road that would have allowed him qualify for PPI had he not been optioned

This is as much a part of MiLB Opening Day arrival as anything. Check out Josh Norris' rundown of players who impressed scouts in spring training. Josh talks to a TON of pro scouts to put this together.

Miguel Amaya is walking out to "Panama" a bit of a World Baseball Classic throwback.
I'm a big fan of all these changes, yes even the automatic runner and universal DH.
The only exception is expanded playoffs. I preferred fewer wild cards and more emphasis on regular season greatness.
I understand why the change was made, but I have not warmed to the larger postseason field
I can't find the specific CBA language, but the idea is that no player who has a negotiated contract beyond his rookie season *at the time of his MLB debut* is eligible for PPI.
In 2024 we learned all about the PPI exemption for players who signed contract extensions
Jackson Chourio and Colt Keith were ineligible for PPI
Yet players who signed extensions during their MLB rookie seasons—Corbin Carroll, Julio Rodriguez—added PPI eligibility
A note about the reported contract extensions for Colt Emerson and Cooper Pratt and what it means for Prospect Promotion Incentive eligibility
Any player who signs a pre-debut extension is ineligible for PPI
As others have noted, we don't know if PPI survives into the next CBA

A two neck, sixteen string steel guitar in its case. Each neck has colorful “totem pole” fret markers.
I used to play steel guitar in a country band and this 1947 national console doubleneck was my instrument. I got it for 500 bucks because not many people play these now. It doesn’t get as much use these days but I sure do love it!
