Thank you @irishtimes.com for the wonderful review of Labour of Love: Economies of care in contemporary art.
Labour of Love is running on now until 6 July 2025.
We are delighted that you enjoyed Labour of Love, Dion Kitson's Ill Communication has taken a few people aback with how life like the sculpture is.
I really enjoyed the “Labour of Love:
Economies of care in contemporary art” exhibition at @glucksman.bsky.social Even if I did think this 3D sculpture was a real person and I said to him / it “jeez, I thought you were part of the exhibition ha ha” when I saw it first 😂 it’s creepily real.
A realistic sculpture of a male engineer, wearing a hi-vis jacket, kneeling in front of a communications box, ostensibly repairing it. The setting is an art museum.
Spotted at the Glucksman museum in Cork. I initially thought it was a real person.
You're not the only one that thought Dion Kitson, Ill Communication, 2024 was a real person!

For customers of Leá's you can access the cafe through the stairs in the building or externally through the Lower Ground entrance to the outdoor terrace.
We are doing everything in our power to rectify these issues & we will share more updates next week.
This issue negatively impacts the accessibility of our building.
Our gallery spaces remain open but are currently only accessible by stairs, we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
We regret to inform you that our lift is currently out of order. We are working alongside our colleagues in UCC to get these issues resolved as soon as possible, but we expect that it may take a number of days.
