/v/ and /vg/ were 99% male, /vp/ was had a stronger mix of 70% male with 30% female, and /cgl/ has been the most balanced at around 50% of each (and the most variety in ethnicity). I don't doubt some of these demographics have since since then, but stay pretty similar for smaller boards.

I used to host a few meetups on different boards (/v/, /vg/, /vp/, and /cgl/) around 2010-2015 with positive results and met some great people - 99% of people act completely differently online VS in person. I think that explicit separation has become lost in more recent times.
