Yes, the London one predates the Chicago one by about 10 years.

Our? Do we own it? Don't give Trump any ideas ๐
Today at the UK's most popular attraction. I'm a Londoner born and bred but my first visit for over 30 years to the Natural History Museum. I remember the Blue Whale and all the animals but didn't realise it holds the UK's only officially owned piece of Moon rock!

Quick glance. Some gems, a couple 'I must be there' and lots of "if I've nothing else worth doing"!
For the first one I used a telescope with a firm base. Exposure of 1/30 second as the Earthshine was very clear.
Lots of practice and obsession. Thanks.
The separating pair! #astronomy #astrophotography
16.2% waxing crescent Moon with lots of Earthshine.
Venus just above the trees.
The 16.2%Moon and Venus, moving apart after the past 2 conjunction evenings! Still looking glorious up there!

An 8th sister for a day or two! Happy reunion ๐
Looks like the two stars you mention are less 'bright' than Uranus by 2 magnitude points so turn up the brightness on your camera!
They look even more difficult to spot through binoculars than Uranus. I guess go to scopes will help.
I checked out Stellarium, it'll be almost at the horizon by the time it's truly dark enough to see.
Well, Lesley, let's hope you don't have a family fall out this Saturday! Tell your son there's no need for despair - yet!!
After the Dwarf Stellar Studio.
After I have run this through Snapseed, Lightleap and Photoshop Lite. All free mobile apps.
If you're interested, image 1 is what the output looks like straight out of the Dwarf app after its in-house processing has been run. Image 2 is after I have run my own processing. Note, no new or false colours added, just drawn out from the original data. #astronomy #astrophotography
You mentioned in our hands. GD is +1 currently though it will change on Wednesday. A fit Eze will help so obviously others with better knowledge than you and me judged he was at risk hence hauling him off. As I mentioned, if they had taken Saka off at Wembley it might have been better for the run in
Snapseed (lots of features there). Lightleap and Photoshop Lite. All free apps. Nothing false added during the processing but drawing out data that's 'hiding'.
Yes, it's all about the simple processing to draw out the colours. It looks very unimpressive straight out of the scope.
It's still in Arsenal's hands, or haven't you checked the table?
The Elephant's Trunk Nebula (specifically designated IC 1396A) is a dense pillar of interstellar gas and dust. It is located within the much larger IC 1396 emission nebula complex in the constellation Cepheus, roughly 2,400 light-years away. The trunk itself is about 20 light-years long. The surrounding region spans over 100 light-years in diameter.
The Elephant Trunk Nebula. A bit noisy but not bad for 45 minutes worth before daylight arrived this morning. All that interstellar gas and dust! Captured by the Dwarf3 scope.

Presumably on the edge of fitness. Arsenal will need him for the next 7/8 games rather than risking him for all 90 minutes like Saka was for the League Cup final.
To be honest, I was always sceptical if these scopes would do well in city light pollution but I've been pleasantly surprised for deep sky imaging. For Moon/Sun they can't rival the Dob.
Yes, the Dwarf does very good star trails as well. They seem very similar in capability. I guess that like Apple and Android, we're stuck on our chosen platform/brand!
Bizarre how Arsenal are still (just) top of the table.
Yes. A good couple of evenings for them.
These 'smart' scopes are good fun aren't they!
I thought I hadn't captured this 3 way conjunction last night but checking my camera card this morning I found I had!
It's 50:50 now and there's plenty of room for both teams to slip up or win them all. The expected and predictable narrative is for City to take it but reality is it's too close to call.

One last shot of the weekend. A superb conjunction of the Moon with lots of Earthshine and the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades (M45). Goodnight all!

Pity as it's sinking fast. Fortunately I had a good elevated view for a handheld shot but my scope just couldn't get it in line.
