I should attend an academic conference and see those people again
A pink case with a label in child’s handwriting: “Detective Kit” and a picture of glasses and some other detective gadget.
Happened to find my daughter’s detective kit! She is in her final week of college classes before graduation so hopefully she’s not working on any big cases right now.

The spice shop smells amazing!
Not to brag but my wife is taking me along spice shopping. We are looking for Ceylon cinnamon.
It has come to my attention that he knew the seed form are dandelions but not the yellow flower form 🤷♂️
Oof
Dang, that is sad
Also, I don’t know if he knew that either form were “dandelions”
With early season dandelions blooming in St. Paul, I find myself remembering a person I once encountered who believed that yellow blooming dandelions were a different species of flower than the fluffy seedhead dandelions. Truly an extraordinary lack of natural curiosity.
A fuzzy cat watching a large screen with the back of a donkey’s head in the foreground, and two donkeys and an observatory in the background.
Maggie is also enjoying “Perfectly a
Strangeness,” a short film about three donkeys who find an abandoned astronomical observatory. I’m proud of our artsy Criterion Cat, so erudite and intellectual.
A fuzzy cat staring at a large screen with a image of the sun and clouds in a very blue sky.
Nothing but blue skies for Maggie! This has been a public service announcement from Bluesky Social. Bluesky Social, providing independent blue sky gazing solutions since 2021.
Fuzzy cat sitting right in front of a large screen staring intently at a scene from “Grasshopper Republic” (2023).
I’m watching a documentary about grasshoppers and my cat really likes it.
Oh thank goodness. I cannot begin to tell you how important ringed seals were in the zooarchaeological record of Arctic peoples; whales might be important symbolically, but ringed seal was vital for oil, meat & blood, skins (used in many ways, like balloon floats for harpoons), sinew, and more.
Post the best picture(s) of your cat you’ve ever taken (if you want)
