Baked sweet potato with butter, cinnamon, and chocolate chips.

Baked sweet potato with butter, cinnamon, and chocolate chips.

If you manage to see this despite the dead pets, AI, and catastrophic news you should totally try it and tell me what you think about it. I oiled, salted, and baked as usual then used Lily’s milk chocochips, cinnamon and monk fruit sweetener, and butter of course.

It depends on the sandwich. Any sandwich I bother cutting is cut in the way the people who used to make them for me cut them. Like PBJ is cut into 4 squares, grilled cheese in 4 triangles, and BLT is cut in half diagonal. Everything else I just don’t other cutting bc I’m too lazy lol

There are three other girls around my home town who look just like me. We laugh and say hi when we see each other but aren’t close because honestly I feel it would be weird. I don’t even know their names. I wouldn’t be surprised if my dad is also their dad the way he got around in his day.

Everyone is always saying Bluesky is dying but like, is it actually doing it this time?

It would be so cool if the did this instead of clearing woodland and if those solar panels actually benefited local consumers instead of I don’t even know who. I lost my childhood home place to them last year and as far as I can tell no one is actually benefiting from the energy they put out.

I totally agree, I never understood coated chocolate or hard candy in ice creams. Now the little fudge ribbon I can get behind and the tiny raspberry chocolate cups in the ice cream they serve at my local Chinese buffet though. It’s like moose tracks but instead of peanut butter it’s raspberry!

I thought her ears were a Pope hat until I scrolled and realized she is definitely not the Pope.

This reminds me of the first time I took my eldest niece to the beach. We stoped for McDonalds on the way and she wanted a sundae with her happy meal and went nuclear because it was Tuesday and she didn’t want to wait for it.

This and AI “wholesome” animal videos have been rampant lately. I mean I feel sorry for them because I’ve been through it and know it’s rough but the quantity of it has been crazy and smells a bit fishy imo.

I have never seen a duck in a tree before and I am so glad you shared this so I could. Now I have to go learn everything there is to know about wood ducks.

I’m curious about these, I’ve always used the white out pens. They only come in one size and it’s like .7 or something so they aren’t perfect for very fine precision work. But they’re good for most things and in my experience the tips are easy to clean if it dries up or gets clogged.

A very rough outline of a squarish object surrounded by a bright blue sky and clouds. This is the beginning of a mural but the base sketch is not very visible.

This is the same mural but now you can see shaped of flowers and a bird beginning to form. A dark cool toned green background has been added inside the squarish shape.

The bird inside the squarish shape is now painted with its base color of a deep rust brown with white and dark violet accents. Its wing is bursting out of the top right side of the squarish shape while foliage spills out of the bottom left of the same shape. The flower shapes are now purple and stalks and bright warm green leaves have been added. There are also a few darker/mid tone leaves framing the top and sides to even things out.

This is the final product. It is a mural that depicts a Polaroid style frame on top of a blue background full of clouds. There is a bird that is the main focus of the image and it is flying with a blueberry in its mouth. The wings are a brighter foxy red now with the same purple and white contrasting designs. The hydrangeas behind the bird are now covered in lighter tiny flowers. Text at the bottom of the image, in very poor handwriting, says “Brown Thrasher” which is the type of bird depicted. It is the state bird of Georgia and I think they’re cool bc they have whiskers.

Considering I had basically 48 hours to throw this together and only about 6 to get it painted I am okay with how it turned out. And I got paid for technically defacing public property which is also cool.

A digital art piece featuring a brown thrasher (bird) in flight, holding a blueberry in its beak. There are blueberry bushes and hydrangea (puffy blue flowers) bushes and miscellaneous foliage in the background. This image is framed like a Polaroid picture but the bird and some of the bushes are breaking out of the confines of the frame. The backdrop behind it all is a bright blue sky with clouds.

I was coerced into painting a mural Saturday and this is my very rough proof of concept. I’ve never painted a mural before and am woefully underprepared.

Currently listening to Small Gods by Pratchett and borrowed the first Warrior Cats graphic novel from my niece to see what all the hype is about. She devoured the first two and is trying to read the books now which I think might be a little above her level but she’s determined and I believe in her.

I come here to look at neat art and to make myself sad reading the news. The amount of AI accounts I’m having to block lately is really cutting into my crying time.

Thank you 💖 the tassels were a first for me and I was so glad they survived the wash. The harlequin/diamond shapes are tricky but they were so fun. The are such a pain to see together but totally worth it 💀

Thank you, I wasn’t sure it would work out when I drew up the plans for it but I’m so proud of how it turned out 💖

I would totally try them but I feel like it’d be kind of hard, like literally most beans are rock hard when dry roasted. Maybe if you used toasted chicken peas and a savory seasoning in the sugar mixture? I’m not a food scientist I think we’re on to something!

I think this kind is the same as normal peanut brittle but it’s got red coloring added it’s not actually baked bean flavor. It think it’s less like honeycomb candy and more like regular hard candy. So it’s probably the same stuff but without baking soda added to aerate it.

Right?! Still, I do vastly prefer it to real baked beans. And I guess technically you don’t bake baked beans either, it’s more a stewing situation which you kind of do the brittle part of peanut brittle. Maybe there are more similarities than I initially thought lol

Mmmm baked beans (I’m sure it’s peanut brittle which is actually roasted and then candied and not baked but peanuts are also legumes)

Congrats and/or condolences on the move! I could get on the bike but I doubt I’d get it moving and survive. Walking is hard bc our sidewalks are only in downtown and thats maybe half a mile at best. Luckily I only go to work and my sisters and any errand that needs doing can be done in between.

Right? Everywhere I need to go in a day is 3-5 miles hike from my house 💀 I’d love to ride a train or bus but we barely have a taxi taxi around here much less public transit sadly.

IMO dragon fruit is just sweet and doesn’t have a real flavor. Dragon fruit flavored stuff is great and tastes nothing like the fruit itself. To be fair I’ve never had it fresh from the tree or bush or however it grows so it’s entirely possible the ones available to me are just bad examples.

Thank you 🥹 I am thrilled with how it turned out! I’m a bit medium on the harlequin. This was my first time doing it and the edge pieces especially were a nightmare but overall I am pleased and already working on a second one!
