Let her make poor choices at almost every turn!!! she just wants attention and affection!!!! What’s so bad about that????
This is the outcome of a near decade long fight between NCBA and R-CALF, a newer organization with strong ties to the far right. But R-CALF is so far right it comes back around to the left by going after the packers.
I’ve seen few publications operating from such a place of fear of litigation. they’re so terrified of lawsuits from the wealthy and powerful that they hedge a LOT more than they should.
they do! while also allowing for lower salaries (a boon for penny pinching employers). in the US you need to rely on the largesse of a corporation for what the EU and UK see as human rights available to all.
I used to handle a lot of hiring across the US and UK and EU and the salaries in the UK and EU were ALWAYS lower and a big reason was healthcare and Europe having a much more robust safety net than the US. (Also generally more (legally required) vacation and shorter work days.)
oh i’ve read that whole essay multiple times!
I do think this guy and his patron/mentor Peter Thiel are vastly underestimating the Catholic Church? They‘re waking a sleeping giant with their hubris.
a ranking member of government should, perhaps, not be complaining about his own existence?
I only saw the typo now 😭
Living on a farm in north Texas I once opened the backdoor and had one land on my head. Snake was okay, but it happened in front of my siblings, so my dignity was destroyed.
One place I wrote for we'd be told we needed to show people the knife and not stab them with it in our reporting. And that's certainly an approach to getting widely read! it also leads to glossy stuff like this that will have a lot of people take away "I want to be rich!" instead of "eat the rich."
sometimes i’m just ducking around in my phone and get a discord call from an 11 year old asking me which is better: steamdeck or rog ally. or which is better: ps5 or xbox.
it delights me every time
union contract negotiations last longer than this “marathon”
someone do wise blood but in 2026
in the freezer aisle at HEB!
and if you try to use the smart tv system it will slow to a crawl and be useless in a year!
SADLY BUT SATISFYINGLY
an image of Pickle Pops which appear to be slushy sticks but of pickle juice.
everyone says no when i ask if they want some ☹️
watched artemis return and then tucked into the latest episode of For All Mankind so now I’ve had happy AND sad tears over space today
It’s giving something
I mean he def underestimated the power of words because his whole business is built on saying “just prompt that”.
but dude it wasn’t the article that enraged people, it was your own actions. it’s giving Frick, and not the museum.
it isn’t just a Pitt problem! it’s a combination of atrophied critical reading skills (helped by our awful education in the US) and algo-based online interactions that elevate the absolute dumbest of voices.
like we teach kids book excerpts instead of books. of course people struggle to comprehend.
you can just say you’ve had enough of my nonsense charles
My grandmother's grandfather was a civil war vet, his dad a Texas founder. I learned John Brown was evil, Texas found Mexico for noble reasons, and the Confederacy was misguided and no different from the US. I'm in a constant state of unlearning it and relearning history. (highly recommended!!!)
My godson got a gaming PC and his mom called to get my help locking it down so he at least has to figure out a way around the controls to google porn and man parental controls on Windows is a mess. (probably still better than the catfishing we all did on AOL tho)
I watched this happen in real time and constantly felt like I was taking crazy pills as those around me repeatedly entertained this man's nonsense. SV is filled with the most sensitive, pedantic, and gobsmackingly ignorant men, all of whom are eager to be labelled as "cool".
A screenshot from the Crusader Kings subreddit. The headline is The Pope is mad at me and the text of the post is "Despite being of my culture and kingdom, the pope seems upset at me after I threatened one of his Cardinals and invoked the Avignon Papacy. How do I fix this before he excommunicates me."
Few things bring as much joy to the world as the Crusader Kings subreddit.
why is mine such ass compared to yours 😭
Pretty sure that's how most people I know felt in November 2016 AND November 2024.
