I love Alfred Molina so much, the roles where he plays a character with educational passion are just so GOOD

I never got spanked but my brother did once, and I'm a walking case study in the lifelong baggage of "what happens when a person is aware that the people who are supposed to be their refuge have a point where they will snap?"

A sketch sheet of notes for a humanized version of Caine from the Amazing Digital Circus. Notes include: -mention of the head being square shaped, dorky '00s era anime bangs, position of facial features can drift a bit for big emotes, 4 fingers for gloves, 5 fingers for hands, eye creases being a charm point, keeping muscular details light, and large head and hands emphasizing small body and short stature

I accept the task of putting the art of the characters I personally like most into the world, and sometimes that means taking a freakish little plastic chatter teeth toy man and turning him into a cartoon twink short king with a snatched waist. #TADC #TACDCaine #IRLCaineAu

a cartoon character with a top hat and a bow tie says i 'm fine ALT: a cartoon character with a top hat and a bow tie says i 'm fine

It's just that if I'm ever NOT creating things that inspire emotional responses and connections from others, I don't know what the hell I'm here for! You know! Like this poor guy!

Yeah, it's doubly frustrating cuz a lot of my emotional buoying comes from posting stuff I'm excited about and seeing other people get excited, and I'm seeking that uplift MORE as a support for these intense times

Trying not to be too hard on myself about my lack of artistic focus, because I am admittedly in the middle of dealing with end-of-life care for a parent, but it sure does suck feeling like I all my functionality is grinding to a screeching halt

Star Trek The Original Series scene. We're in a CORRIDOR! A room door is open, and we see two crewmen spilling out into the hallway in red and blue uniforms. They are otherwise indecipherable tho because they are entirely enveloped in a big cloud of smoke. It's pouring out all around them and into the hallway area, like there's a Phish concert in there. Closed caption reads, "[COUGHING]"

The way that the attention economy and profit seeking dictate how short a time we hold a piece of art in our awareness can be demoralizing, but I think it's worth it to really consider how these works make us feel, and explore what we would do with them if they were in our hands, to make our own art

What I'm trying to do is keep in mind the fact that the show introduced me to a character I have a strong emotional attachment to, and facilitated my getting to know a bunch of new people (yourself included!) and that's worth hanging on to for longer than the typical lifespan of internet media

I think the ghost of Tolkien should rise up and choke the fuck out of all these gormless techbro fascists who keep using his lengendarium's names for their oppression machines, Army of Dunharrow style.

I hate Al and I refuse to use it

Peter, if you don't use Al a bunch of super rich men will lose a lot of money

I already said I hated Al Harry, you don't need to sell it to me

My favorite comments I get on my art are the ones where someone says that what I drew made them fall in love a little with a character that they might not have considered attractive or crushworthy before, it feels like pulling off a magic trick

Color drawing of Caine from the Amazing Digital Circus as a red haired human man with old-timey facial hair, with his hand propped against his cheek in reference to a familiar image of Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

They're reading checklists of "what activities that have the highest profits/highest level of public awareness associated with them" cuz they want that Simple Numerical Supremacy for themselves, not cuz they're actually interested in those things. Which totally explains why Dan Olson was invited.
