The easiest to spot indicator that someone is an asshole is if they utter the word "IQ" about anything at all.

When evaluating a series of games, some reviewers consider each game within its historical context and others do analysis of each game in a vacuum (meaning, by the contextual standards of the exact time the reviewer lives in). The latter group write worthless drivel and I hate reading/watching it.
every now and then you see a Sonic fan insinuate that Mario 64 is bad and you realize that some people just can’t be helped. they’ve been immersed in horseshit for so long that they don’t know what anything else looks like
Were good games not allowed to compete?
cinephiles are like check out my bespoke rating system: 10/10 means perfect, 9/10 means amazing, 8/10 means great. 7/10 means good, 6/10 means decent, 5/10 means mediocre, 4/10 means bad, 3/10 means terrible, 2/10 means irredeemable, 1/10 means unwatchable. has anyone else thought of this?
Menominee County is mostly populated by the Menominee Tribe which tends to vote in higher numbers during bigger elections. The voter turnout was low and the exact percentages aren’t indicative of much regarding national mood.
Wisconsin has the vanishing of ethan carter, but going with the Harley Davidson video game which features a track in Wisconsin is maybe more regionally relevant (since Harley is a Wisconsin business)
If there is an afterlife, I hope every US citizen who placed a vote for Donald Trump will have to feel the guilt of every dead Iranian.
I also hope every Republican official in the house, senate, and this administration will have to explain their cowardice to every person who died for it.
donald trump and benjamin netanyahu are the most evil people alive today. there’s no competition. they need to be stopped immediately
we (u.s.) are evil. full stop. fucking hate the leaders of this country.
”it’s a kids ______” is a reprehensible defense of any media. We should have the most scrutiny for media made for children, which should be as thoughtfully, artfully, and purposefully created and promoted as possible.
watching minions rise of gru in black and white with no sound except the nutcracker suite and its actually pretty good
showing my preschool aged kids the passion of the Christ for movie night so i can explain to them why the library is closed today
Like most parents, I want my give kids my kids the best parts of my childhood, which is why I've got 1000 hours of Maury on VHS to play every sick day
The Japanese language barrier helps their perception that the stuff they like is just toys because they don’t have to read statements from the creatives or see how people in Japan talk about the art itself, and any evidence that could prove this mindset wrong can simply be blamed on woke translators

my latest dumb parenting decision: the kids weren't learning to ride bikes because at the first sign of difficulty they'd put their feet on the ground. I told them both if they crashed with their feet on the pedals I'd give them 10 skittles
I'm now out 20 skittles and they're solid bike riders 😊
Watched Hoppers. Is actually good. Wrote a way too long review of what's wrong with contemporary animation. letterboxd.com/evelynn_k/fi...
it takes two
#10. It Takes Two: i don't have friends?
Resident Evil 2 (remake)
#9. Resident Evil 2 (remake): I don't like playing survival horror games by myself. Also purchased due to the dissertation, but didn't need to play to make my point about remakes.
Exit 8
#8. The Exit 8. I guess there's a movie about this (learned from @pimscrypt.bsky.social's letterboxd). So now I feel like it must be significant? (@chariotrider.bsky.social suggested this to me)
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
#7. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: I wrote a substantial section of a chapter of my dissertation on this game, but since I was mostly just comparing it to the original FFVII, I didn't feel I needed to play this to make my point about and I CERTAINLY did not have the time. I'm a fraud!
Wide Ocean Big Jacket
#6. @pixeladay.bsky.social's video convinced me to buy this game and I know it would make me cry because it's just up my alley. Will probably be in my top 25 games ever when I get around to playing it. But... I have to be in the right place to play a narrative game I know I'll love.
1000 x resist
#5. 1000 x Resist. Another darling I haven't had much desire to actually get going. Truth is it kind of looks like Mirror's Edge (aesthetic) and that game gives me a headache whenever I play, so I have a subconscious hatred of looking at this.
Copper Odyssey
#4. Copper Odyssey: I know I would love this game but it also strikes me a an investment to get going and I haven't have time/effort for any investment in games since around 2022.
rats in a cage
#3. Rats in a Cage: When this came out I promised the creator to give it a try and then didn't and I feel guilty whenever I see it in my library.
a short hike
#2: Playing catch up now (finally home after a day out with the family). I feel bad about this one because it's an indie darling and it's short as hell. I'm a bad person, what can I say
