I don't have any Polaroid cameras, but I do have a Polaroid Lab printer that lets me print any photo on Polaroid film. This was originally shot on digital (Sony) using a 1950s Canon 35mm LTM lens, on the coast of Le Croisic in western France.

I took this photo two weeks ago; I liked the way this house was framed by the snaky branches. Yesterday we had a big windstorm that knocked down the large tree in the foreground at left.

I have the 28/1.4 AF-D, which is amazing (and expensive), but the manual focus experience is a bit disappointing. Very short focus throw and a very slight lag. I never had an SLR with autofocus but might get a cheap one just to experience it with this lens.

I love this mural in Montréal, not just for its artistry but because it raises questions. Is it a tender moment of sharing between a parent and its offspring? Or is it showing that those at the top get what's out of reach to those below?

Lovely. In the early 1980s, I happened to arrive in Edinburgh during the folk festival and saw on a poster that he was playing that night. I ran to the ticket booth and asked if there were any tickets left. The guy laughed at me and said, "son, that show has been sold out for six months!"
