Yeah, and I get that. It feels like something held over from a very different time.
I would probably argue that access probably has provided us some of the only real journalism from insiders and unnamed sources. We definitely aren't getting it directly from the administration!

Do they need a gala to celebrate these relationships? Maybe not, but to pretend they shouldn't exist or be entirely transactional isn't realistic either.
Now this administration is clearly having that adversarial relationship that is leading exactly to what you are describing, and I don't think the journalism has been necessarily better because of it. In fact, most of the real news is coming from journalists with insider relationships.
I get this to an extent, and I don't think they should be "friends", however, there are no journalists that don't develop working relationships with the people they report on. In fact, it is sometimes how you get the actual news or insider information that makes for good journalism.
Yeah, I probably still have Giannis over Cade in terms of top 5 players (not MVP voting), however, just trying to share the point that the best in the league aren't from the US
Especially when you consider that basically all 5 of the best players in the NBA are international.
It is literally every text for my dad group chats.
$3k at 8 hours, 6 new tables per hour, 20% tip, would be $312 bill per table.
Maybe more doable (again I welcome input), but $312 bill per table is still a higher end place coastal elite restaurant, not where 99.9% of service workers actually work.
Having never worked as a waiter, I am welcome to criticism of this, but to reach $10k, the math says a person would need to work a 10 hour shift, with averaging about 8 new tables per hour, and receiving 25% tip on an average bill costing $500.
$3k with the same assumptions would be $150 a meal.
I was just talking about this and how a lot of millennials learned to type in part because of things like AOL/AIM, where we messaged friends constantly in the computer.
I think if I am the Pacers, I protect Furphy over Shepherd. Even with the ACL, Furphy is on a longer, cheaper contract and has more upside.
I understand the tax and everything, but overall, I have thought he has shown real potential to be that 4th PG of the team next year, and maybe even eventually TJM heir apparent. Hope he gets to that.
I'm weirdly a sucker for very weirdly explicit movie titles. Snakes on a Plane? Yep, there were snakes on that plane!
Anderson Cooper: “So it's more expensive to have a chronically homeless person living on the streets than it is to actually subsidize an apartment for them?”
Answer: “Yes, we’re paying more as taxpayers to walk past that person on the street and do nothing.” #HousingFirst #UrbanTruth
I appreciated you and @nateduncannba.bsky.social speaking about how, two year records exclude the idea that you can have huge exits of players. Nothing is perfect, but keeping those teams in purgatory longer doesn't seem to benefit anyone.
Rank the current teams outside of the playoffs/play-in by who will have the most post season success in 2027.
Absolutely agree. 5 would be second way ahead of everyone else.
Only downside is that Shaq being in front of you means you aren't seeing anything.
I actually think he is going to win them a few games. Russ doesn't know how to take his foot off the pedal!
I love the idea of Gambit in an exhibitors hall where they are selling cards, and Gambit picks up a rare card, where everyone is yelling at him not to destroy it, while he just looks confused.
I would love him to run the offense with the second unit, but can't imagine he is interested in that role, nor do I think he should be.
Excellent analysis and this was why I was generally lower on Peterson in terms of fit. Offensively, they would be fantastic, but, as point of attack defense has increased in importance, I worried too much about them both being in the backcourt.
Any guesses what may be the culprit?
