Days later, the WH made adjustments to Trump's tariffs that could benefit ArcelorMittal.

Trump keeps ordering the DOJ to come to particular findings, so his administration can use those as a fig leaf to avoid future prosecution for those crimes. I’m not saying that courts won’t fall for this scam—I’m saying we have to overhaul our government so that they *can’t* fall for it.

I’m too young to have known anything about the nuclear war fears of the Cold War, so I never developed psychological immunological defenses to all this.

I have questions

Under international law, "genocide" is such a fraught term because it requires showing 'dolus specialis,' or proof that perpetrators specifically aimed to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.

There’s nothing I can say about Trump that’s more damning than his own comments this morning. We’ve arrived at a worst-case scenario, as millions of people said would happen, while millions more said “…nah.”

This morning we were supposed to leave for our first family vacation in two years, so naturally both of the kids contracted a flu-like virus yesterday. We now live in the liminal space of the day before leaving on vacation, with no way of knowing when or if we’ll leave.
