In addition to the tornado that the NTP confirmed in SW MB on Aug 5, we have now confirmed two tornadoes that occurred NE of Winnipeg on Aug 6.

The Aug 6 tornadoes were assigned EF0 ratings after a damage survey was conducted.

Details can be found here: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202...

There were several reports of possible tornadoes and photos/video of funnel clouds yesterday in the Winnipeg, MB area.

The Winnipeg NTP survey team will investigate these potential tornadoes today.

Please send damage reports to ntp@uwo.ca or submit via uwo.ca/ntp. Thanks!

We’ve received several reports of tornadoes with the storms in southern Manitoba yesterday evening.

We are following up. A storm damage survey may be required, but to this point no damage has been reported.

Please send any reports to @ntp-reports.bsky.social or submit info at uwo.ca/ntp. #MBstorm

The final versions of all NTP 2024 Survey Summary Maps are now available. They are a great way to see damage survey investigation results, including the survey source data.

The maps are available via the NTP Open Data Portal at uwo.ca/ntp and through the NTP Dashboard at uwo.ca/ntp/dashboard.

So, Env Canada is looking to discontinue #FOCN45, Significant Weather Discussion, issued by the Prairie & Arctic Storm Prediction Centre.

Perhaps if the disc was available on weather.gc.ca rather than random US wx pages it would get used more!
