Real change happened this week. The National Living Wage rises 4.1% to £12.71, and the minimum wage for 18–20-year-olds jumps 8.5% to £10.85. The biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation, tackling zero-hours contracts, supporting families, and strengthening trade unions.

We discussed this recently in Bristol and whilst it seems obvious, I was looking for some evidence. So thanks for sharing this.

In a political career defined by grotesque statements, this president’s horrifying, illegal, and genocidal threat this morning is among the most dangerous and appalling. You can’t shout “fire” in a crowded theater and a president cannot be allowed to threaten genocide with the United States military. Threats of war crimes and disregard for human life must be met with accountability under the law. Trump must go—and Republicans, whether in the Cabinet or Congress, must join Democrats in using any and all constitutional powers at our collective disposal to end this illegal war and take the gun out of this madman’s hands.

Quite astonishing that four Bristol Green Party cllrs on planning committee voted AGAINST a facility where women & children could learn to ride a bike safely.

On the day local media have been talking about road safety & vision zero, this is shocking.

Great to meet with staff from the dental practice on Greystoke Avenue in Southmead yesterday.

Labour councillors helped to set this up. They’ve now gone from 2 to 4 surgeries, providing much needed NHS dentistry to the area.
