As a loose suggestion for more casual, MKWii has great mods that run on Dolphin with easy in-game online. Deluxe X is more balanced whereas Insane Kart Wii is chaos. Tracks can have bad cameras and MKWii is bouncy, but it is pretty fun!

I played it. Like others may have said, there's some sweaty tech in the game. It's like if CTR has fighting game complexity. The tutorials are a lot on their own and I just felt like I couldn't get a handle. It's a bit much.

I'm always more impressed by the price. I remember 32 GB flash drives being like in the 25-40$ range. Like even a 4GB one was 10-15$. Now 128 GBs are like 20$ and go on sale for even less. (all in USD)

Though because of various cloud services and portable devices, flash drives are less necessary.
