Paying respects to Colonel John Benbow. A man trapped, victim to his time where labels of Parliamentarian or Royalist defined/changed any moment. When in reality, being human lies in heart of everything, regardless of cards we are dealt in life.

I had a great time giving a public talk (followed by a mini-workshop on medieval documents) at Shropshire Archives this week. Is there anything better than talking to people about cool historic documents?! We are so lucky to have incredible county archives. #shropshire #archives #welshmarches 📚

Sometimes I miss random niceness, when I visit my nephew in Shropshire there is an obvious difference, people just seem friendlier. Local bus driver snapped because I don't have tap to pay, Shrewsbury bus driver pulled up to see if I needed directions because "I looked a bit lost." 1/2

FloodlightFriday; A Large Scotch, Shrewsbury Town. Issue 9 of the rather splendid long running Shrewsbury fanzine A Large Scotch came out around April time in 1991. It was a “relegation special” issue but we’re using it for #Flood…

Today's #FloodlightFriday escapade comes to us from Shrewsbury via Huddersfield with torn knee ligaments, a promising youngster and the usual brilliant picture, this week of a lost ground. footballfanzineculture.blog/2026/04/17/f...
