And yes, this totally means we should replace Confederate statues with statues celebrating the DCAU.

And heck, if you count up to JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. THE FATAL FIVE, the DCAU lasted until March 29, 2019 -- 27 Years, or 6.75 times longer than the Confederacy.

Quote with something good that lasted longer than the US Confederacy (1861-1865).

The DC Animated Universe, spanning 14 years from BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES to JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED (September 6, 1992 - May 13, 2006), 3.5 times longer than the Confederacy.

a cartoon drawing of the joker with a purple suit and green hair Alt: The Joker from the end of BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM, with a missing tooth and the Gotham Fair in flames behind him, breaking into laughter as he realizes he's near death.

I've got to say I've never been nuts about the premise of this episode. I've never seen the Joker as someone who needs outside validation for his comedy, because he doesn't think the way anyone else does. It's enough that HE thinks he's funny.

Just my opinion.

Why did you post a picture of Green Lantern?

Of course I love Bibbo. He's a burly Popeye the Sailor Man voiced by Brad Garrett. What's not to love?

They should probably give up on the idea of all of his dialogue rhyming, as most comic book writers SUCK at writing verse.

As always, the original Jack Kirby version is the best. A demon possessed by a human is a cool concept.

He's cool. Getting linked with Blue Beetle in the JLI for so long kind of sidetracked him as a character, though. I liked his Post-52 Geoff Johns/Dan Jurgens series where he was bouncing around the DC timeline. That was a good series.

Love him, both the sarcastic version Frank Miller took from ARTHUR and the traditional wise counsel version. He's great when you can combine them both into one character, though.

Is he still dead?

Not much to say other than she's cool & I like her.

My favorite version of him was on BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. Tying the Creeper's origin in with the Joker's was wonderfully logical and made the Creeper 75% more interesting. I love him being into Harley, too! #YellowSkinnedWackyMan

I find it consistently hilarious how people talk about him being "the heart & soul of the Justice League" when he was written out of the book for 15 years & nobody particularly missed him.

But he's cool. JLU figured out the best way to play him by emphasizing his unique (non-Superman) powers.

Not the greatest episode, but Shirley Walker's hip-hop Joker theme is pretty cool. ๐Ÿ‘

Some of my personal favorite Clive Revill roles include the COLUMBO episode "The Conspirators," the STAR TREK TNG episode "Qpid" (as Sir Guy of Gisborne!), and as the Russian Rogozhin in Billy Wilder's THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES. What are yours?

Alfred Pennyworth in the BTAS episode "On Leather Wings."

A belated #RIP to the great character actor Clive Revill, who #BTAS fans know as the original Alfred. (The role was recast with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. when Revill went to do summer stock.) Revill's Alfred can still be heard in "On Leather Wings," "Christmas with the Joker," and "Nothing to Fear."

It's relevant to note that, in addition to his creative work, in the 1980s Mike Barr did invaluable reporting on the history of labor-organizing attempts in the comics industry, and was an early and outspoken advocate for Bill Finger's legacy. Give if you are able!

Mike W. Barr is the credited writer on the #BTAS episode "Paging the Crime Doctor" and wrote a ton of great comics besides, including many classic #Batman stories, Batman & the Outsiders, Green Lantern, Star Trek, Doc Savage, & The Maze Agency. Please help if you can. Sharing the link also helps.

I'm glad BTAS understood that Joker is most fun when he's deeply petty. His best stories are rarely "tries to destroy Gotham" but rather "gets mad that someone cut him off in traffic" or "wants to copyright fish" or "bombed during stand-up" or "a casino stole his likeness."

a cartoon character with blonde hair and blue eyes is looking up Alt: Supergirl from JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED smiling sheepishly aboard the Javelin.

I LOVED what STAS did with Supergirl's origin. She wasn't from Krypton, she was from Argo, a neighboring planet in Krypton's system. So Superman was still the Last Son of Krypton but she was now figuratively his cousin instead of his literal cousin. Perfect.
