FBI agent Denise played by David Duchovny and Dale Cooper, played by Kyle Maclachlan, Twin Peaks 1990

David Duchovny played a transgender woman, Denise, on Twin Peaks in 1990 and when greeting Cooper, the show's protagonist, she says, "I prefer Denise, if you don't mind" and Cooper responds with "OK" and her identity is settled within a couple seconds and was a non-issue, 36 years ago.

Yeah, the college dropout who created the Professor Watchlist and encouraged his followers to harass scholars was all about loving and respecting one another.

Tremendous film, although Infernal Affairs-the Hong Kong film it's a remake of-might be even better!

Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.

Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.

Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.

He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.

The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.

Original post on reddit if anyone is interested including the original posters response. I decided to post the images seperately here because reddit is reddit and the thread is filled with a whole bunch of ableism! Link provided in case it is wanted however.

North East based creatives may well be interested to know that The Glasshouse/Sage has been caught using gen AI to promote a Jurassic Park concert recently, and their response while polite is deeply concerning. Original email was sent by u/NorthernScrub on reddit, all credit to them.

Happy International Asexuality day to all my fellow ace folks!

Autistic people have the right to identify with the symbols they personally connect with. Those of us who like the puzzle piece have every right to, just as those who prefer the various infinity symbol variations have every right to use that instead. 3/3

There's dozens of evil groups who use various imagery, colours, logos etc. if we judged everything by the worst group that used it we wouldn't have anything left. My mother loves the rainbow infinity symbol, she's also a hardcore anti-vaxxer who thinks the MMR jab causes autism. Swings both ways 2/?

AS is a vile group but the fact that they use the puzzle piece shouldn't demonise it considering it predates AS by over 40 years. It was first used by the National Autistic Society in the UK, a group who have done amazing work to support millions of autistic people for over half a century. 1/?

I read your take on the so called 'Autism Creature' and despite my finding that image very offensive I appreciate the nuance of letting people represent themselves. The same is true of the puzzle piece. We can acknowledge it's problematic uses and still validate all autistic people who like it. 3/3

The implication could be seen as all the thousands of people who that applies to aren't part of "the autistic community", which is a very dangerous slope. Not suggesting that's your intent but we should still be careful.... 2/?

Would never engaged in a strawman, and while you don't use the specific word 'entire' you do suggest it is viewed as a hate symbol by "the autistic community", which is quite exclusionary to the many autistic people who connect with it far more so than the infinity symbol variants... 1/?

I'd be careful about generalising, many autistic people much prefer the puzzle piece to the infinity symbol, in fact this is literally the first time I've ever even seen the gold infinity symbol. To suggest the entire community view the puzzle piece as a hate symbol is inaccurate and exclusionary.

A messege from President Connolly to mark World Autism Awareness Day yesterday.

I know a lot of people from outside the UK who follow @pinknews.bsky.social to try to stay on top of UK development - friends, can you help spread the word? Boycott now - stop following them, remove them from your press lists, never click through to their website. Disgusting betrayal.

It's How You Show Up
It's How You Show Up YouTube video by National Autistic Society

And another of my favourite videos from the National Autistic Society. NAS has many excellent resources on their website that are well worth checking out.

The video addresses issues and challenges that some autistic people may face so viewer discretion is advised.

The legs have been absolutely insane yeah. Sadly I do think we're right about at the end now, with Mario releasing next week that'll get the majority of the family film screenings and with Hopper still being fairly new that'll get the lion's share of what's left. Still it's been genuinely historic!

3 weeks ago 1 0 0 0

Haha, intentional I expect-and hope! 🤣 Can't see it in this picture but there were about 50 people in this screening, they were just all in the better seats behind me. The earnings have dropped considerably but the base numbers and still insane for a film about to enter it's 6th month of screenings!

Zootropolis 2 absolutely standout, set new standards for both sequels and children's films which is doubly important in the age of AI slop. Additionally, a Disney movie covering topics like mental health issues and the importance of therapy seems like a genuinely generational moment.
