I get his point about perspective, but it just feels like they were putting together a competitive team, not a championship favorite.

Window felt open when there weren't many/any favorites (2020-2024) but that was the time to BE one. Now with OKC/SAS, being simply competitive means being hopeless.

The part I don't love about Frank's response (in the full vid) is comparing LAC to the others with long streaks of winning seasons: Lakers '76-'92, Spurs '97-'19, and Jazz '85-'04.

Those teams won 70% of their games (58+) a bunch of times during their streaks: Jazz 4x, Lakers 8x, Spurs 13x, LAC 0x

It shocks me how many businesses still don’t seem to get that Trump’s cultural revolution did not actually happen

I love kawhi and think he's an incredible player. But i think we've seen the best from him this year, and it wasn't nearly enough to contend. It's time to move on.

We really have to stop aiming for 50 wins and be a little more patient.

Short of catastrophic injuries, nobody but OKC or SAS are coming out of the West. And it doesn't really matter who comes out of the East, just not at that level.

Old man yells at cloud rant: I don't think people understand that the NBA championship is just as out of reach for most teams as it was when KD joined the Warriors (sorry Toronto, multiple season ending injuries took them down, not you). The definition of "contender" has changed.

15 winning seasons and none over 57. Mediocrity, as defined.

Ready for a new era of clippers basketball that isn't this one

Those names sound vaguely familiar. Are they also the guys who contributed to an even longer streak of winning seasons than the current Clippers streak, and also have nothing to show for it? If so I may have heard of them in passing

I don't think Clipper fans really care that much right now but....the fanbase really doesn't deserve everything that has (and will) transpired with this franchise. We're only rooting for the underdog because of those damn 80s/90s sports movies!

Good. Come back next year with rebounding and defensive execution. And maybe some semblance of an offense.

same, I am....unaffected

plus I really didn't want to watch Shai remind us why we should've kept him (and those of his teammates who were either selected or traded for our picks) over PG

This wouldn't have met my 6-games-back play-in threshold that I think should exist

So I acknowledge the Warriors victory 🫡

kept the 20 game streak alive through this isn't a real game so I don't think it got extended either

Watching the Clippers and Warriors struggle to defeat one another for a chance to play OKC in the first round

is like watching Yamcha and Tien struggle to defeat one another for a chance to fight Cell

Losing in the play-in is embarrassing, but it's no more disappointing than getting swept in the first round

But boy is this embarrassing
