Just the sheer amount of jobs that I've applied to that
a) don't respond back
b) weren't actually hiring
or
c) reject me within a couple of weeks (this is actually rare because of a and b happening more frequently)
is astoundingly bad.

God, the job market sucks. Anyone need a writer or a data analyst with some experience creating and reading the outcomes of SQL queries?
NEWS: Sonic R PC is being decompiled! The decompilation is being done by @jnmartin84.bsky.social, who now has the game running in MacOS, & will eventually be porting it to Dreamcast. #SonicNews
You can see it in action via YouTube footage below:

I thought this point Eric made about how libraries are early introductions to a social contract was really interesting, too:
Hey @edgarallanbro.bsky.social rules and you should give @skyboxcritics.com money. They deserve every penny so they can keep writing the good shit!
Congrats!!
I work at Kotaku now! :)
You can go watch back today's KFGD to hear me talk about it a little if you want. You could also read my alma mater @gibiz.bsky.social to learn more! www.gamesindustry.biz/kotaku-hires...
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
Well, anything but post and talk, really. There are too many words and not enough actions from our elected officials. Talking is free. Actions demand sacrifice and dedication to making people's lives better. Again, commit to actual change or get out of the way of people who will.
If you are not willing to disband them, step aside and leave office, so that someone can do so. Our rights are being encroached upon further day-by-day. My friends, especially those at risk of ICE racism, shouldn't have to live in fear because our elected legislators are unwilling to do anything.
The "commonsense guardrails" would be to disband ICE and DHS. They're both comprised of thugs using violence to suppress rights and kill at the behest of an uncaring US government. We now have a new wrinkle in which they're used to test mass surveillance on the public. They need to be dismantled.
Watched Seven Samurai again. One of Kurosawa's finest works, honestly.
Bravely Second
I'll do one once my face clears up. Allergies are kicking my ass this week.
Forgot that today is the 7th anniversary of me coming out. Shame I can't really do much to celebrate, but hey! I made this much further as an openly gay man!
You have one week to get those Pride month pitches cooking. While you're at it, check out our newly revamped Write for Us page. Pitches will open on Monday, April 27.

I'm really hoping that this signals to Capcom that people are hungry for new games not connected to any previous series.

I’m guessing some retro game enthusiasts simply don’t know that SNK/Neo Geo is now owned by Saudi Arabia, largely because that was Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud’s favorite console growing up. You can literally read it in biographies of the dude. 1/

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl screenshot: An Easter Egg found in the game. This space resembles the title screen found in the first game, Shadow of Chornobyl. A crumbling wall with the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the background, with some light fog. A campfire, a backpack, a rifle, a skeleton, and some other objects are in front of the wall.
Found a fun Easter Egg in S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2. This is an homage to the very first game's title screen. Love the little nod.
CHARLIE BROWN: Yes mistress, you're right, mistress, I'm a blockhead! a hopeless blockhead!

Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

Unfortunately, like so many businesses of the time, it was consolidated into another and shut down. The space is now occupied by yet another DG.
When I was a kid, there was a store called Place's where I grew up. Sadly, it shut down when I was in high school. My dad and I used to go there and pick up cheap toys and computer games. It's also how I found out there was a PC version of Mega Man.

I'll maintain that it was the Game Boy Advance. It had a lot of unrealized potential in the 3D space. Mostly because most devs, including Nintendo itself, treated the console like it was only a portable Super Nintendo.
The reason this matters is that "Imagine Dragons released a live-service game" makes it seem like a cashgrab, but that does not appear to be the story here. These guys are lifelong gamers. The lead singer programs and releases his own iOS games as a hobby, without telling anyone!
Since this post is aggregating my Bloomberg column, I kinda feel the need to clarify that the Imagine Dragons game is not "live-service" (designed for recurring monetization). It's a $15 multiplayer shooter with no microtransactions.
