I know this is a ridiculous thing to say but I wish hotels had yoga mats in them. I’d love to do some stretching after a long ass flight and a night slept in a bed that’s not mine. My back would be forever grateful. It turns out stretching on a wood floor is not so great on knees.

I also read about half of The Joy in the Belly of a Riot, a collection of poetry by Barbara Fant. A reminder that poetry is soul sustaining. Some of these poems were painful and heavy and others lifted me. They all have been masterfully painted. I need a respite but look forward to the rest.

This mini marathon of watching tv has reminded me that I enjoy well made art. That TikTok is not the same and doesn’t provide anywhere near the level of fulfillment of a well crafted story. That I need to carve time out for more stories (tv, movies, and books included).

My decision making skills were probably impaired even before the lack of sleep. I decided to watch just one episode of heated rivalry before going to sleep. Which then turned into two. Which then turned into the pilot of Anne with an E (of Green Gables). My heart is enriched but I’m sleeepppppyyyyy

My decision making skills are suffering from sleep deprivation. Just landed in London. I decline breakfast on the plane. I consider stopping in a shop to get a snack but think, no I’m not hungry and this is all junk food. I pass a coffee shop. 10 minutes into the cab ride & my tummy grumbles 😫🙄

I wish more educators and fewer lawyers would run for public office, in part b/c the best ones are naturals at explaining the whys of things.

For me I like to imagine how things would be different if SCOTUS had ruled differently on either Bush v Gore or Citizens United.

It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.
