I fully believe Dundon will win on the court. But he is learning something important right now — that he didn't just buy an NBA team. He also inherited a spot as chairman of one of the most passionate fanbases on the planet.

If you look at the coaching marking, and what average salaries around the league are (HC AAV is around $6.5M) giving Tiago or a new coach around $2.5M AAV would be considered a steal and cost saving by NBA standards.
