Something else I have been up to. Finally, I have found some time to mix the recordings we did with my other band "fuTunes" at our last concert/party in May 2025 in our rehearsal space:

This is more Jazzrock/Funk, covering classics and standards, but in a weird way.

Well, here's what I have been up to in 2025.... #geoguessr

Holiday music that sheds light on the dark sides of the holiday season: Loneliness, isolation, toxic relations, consumerism and homelessness. I wish you all a pleasant first Advent.

Y'all are welcome to guess for yourself what I like and what "the public" likes. I'm happy that there's anything on there at all that people like enough to tell me that they do so.

Turns out - again - that I'm clueless about my own music. On the current album, the favorite of almost everybody who has given me feedback so far is absolutely not my favorite piece on the album. I'm absolutely fine with that, I'm just surprised. I guess I shouldn't be, as this has happened before.
I know the feeling. Have fun and enjoy the ride.
I fucking hate charts there's never been a chart I've seen and been like "life is better for having seen that chart" data should stay in a spreadsheet where it belongs

Me in 2025. The goal is to get good enough to play a short solo in one of the new pieces we are working on with one of my bands right now.
What better time than Christmas eve to talk about Easter eggs in creative strategy No. 9: phaneronaut.com/2024/12/24/9...
Happy holidays, everbody!
It‘s been a while since I did in- depth analogue sound design. It is still fun.
He even claimed to have been the performer in the robot costume. It nearly moved her to tears (of joy) to see the work of her father remembered in such an unexpected way! I had absolutely no idea about all of this. Here's to unexpected joyful surprises. (4/4)
She had noticed my background and told us that she used to go watch this movie with her late father every year for Christmas - and that he actually was one of the writers of the movie (under a pseudonym: Glenville Mareth). (3/4)
Later today I joined our company-wide year-end all-hands meeting with this as my background. After the usual look back at the year when the meeting was nearly finished, one of my co-workers unexpectedly asked to address the assembly. (2/4)
A still from the movie "Santa Clause conquers the Martians", showing a roboe, Santa Clause, two green aliens and a few other characters from the movie.
Something cool happend today at work: I always use silly still images from obscure Science Fiction movies as MS Teams backgrounds for virtual meetings. On a whim I wanted my background to be holiday-themed for the next weeks, so I changed it to a still from "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians". (1/4)

Coming back to this: I found a Reddit discussion about this topic as well. www.reddit.com/r/classicalm...
I listened to some of the recommendations there. I especially liked the "Contes Cruel" by Tristan Murail.

...another album contains songs based on a danish drum machine that have been compared to Cluster and Moebius, yet another album that has been called “a strange blend of zeuhl, electronica, world music, and more”, and then there is more noise, live electronics with sci-fi samples and more. (4/4)
....one album containing only miniatures of less then 2 minutes, one that’s a through-composed 44 minute journey through the history of electronic and electro-acoustigc music including a full-blown fugue for Moog synthesizer and a Steve Reich phasing hommage... (3/4)
There’s something for almost everyone: a trilogy of songs that combines the sounds of hyenas with an experimental ukrainian-russian synthesizer, an album that or more or less consists of the same song seven times in different styles, free rock-based improvisation in a trio format... (2/4)
Yes, this is another annoying “It’s Bandcamp Friday, buy my stuff!” message. But let me convince you to spend just 3€ total for my whole discography on Bandcamp: phaneronaut.bandcamp.com/music ... (1/4)

Hi classical music Bluesky: Are there any original symphonic works that prominently feature electric guitar?
This year my music got 96,000 streams on Spotify and had 46,000 listeners and I made… $185.61. Total.
This is indefensible. Truly an evil company. I totally get why people enjoy using Spotify, but if you want to support musicians, please consider buying our stuff on Bandcamp once in awhile. 💚
