This really is my favourite way of bird watching. A nice fallen tree to sit on, & a flask of tea. Sit ,watch & listen. Blackbirds, song thrushes, tits, Robins, chaffinches, woodpeckers all singing & calling. Even had a squirrel come & sit next to me. Just need the sun to come out a bit more

A sea watch first thing this morning at Samphire hoe. 93 razorbills, 18 red throated divers, 90 gannets & 203 unidentified auks all east. Then moved on to my passion of peregrine watching. The resident pair saw off an intruding male, some superb flying action. The odd sleet shower, but enjoyable

As the weather has turned colder more birds are visiting the garden. Blue & great tits, wrens, sparrows, robin, magpies & and a crow. Just the day for sitting and watching the feeders with a nice cup of tea. May even have a slice of cake as well.

Just as dawn was breaking this morning, i heard a blackbird singing in the distance. This is quite normal this time of year, especially when its mild. A few bursts as if he's tuning up ready for the spring song. Lovely to hear the melodic notes at any time.
