This really is my favourite way of bird watching. A nice fallen tree to sit on, & a flask of tea. Sit ,watch & listen. Blackbirds, song thrushes, tits, Robins, chaffinches, woodpeckers all singing & calling. Even had a squirrel come & sit next to me. Just need the sun to come out a bit more

A fairly quiet 2 hour sea watch at Samphire hoe this morning. 4 Red throated divers, 6 auks, 59 cormorants, 33 gannets, 17 common gulls, 7 kittiwakes, 1 med gull & a single great crested grebe
A sea watch first thing this morning at Samphire hoe. 93 razorbills, 18 red throated divers, 90 gannets & 203 unidentified auks all east. Then moved on to my passion of peregrine watching. The resident pair saw off an intruding male, some superb flying action. The odd sleet shower, but enjoyable
Finally managed to get out this week, what with the rain, hospital appointments and a blocked sewage pipe. A blustery sea watch at Samphire hoe for an hour, 20 Red throated divers, 16 gannets, 38 common gulls, 18 kittiwake, 3 Fulmars & a few auks

A surge of 462 pushed out west by a fishing boat in Lade/Greatstone Bay in a 15min slot at 12.45

Garden birds the last few days, Blue & Great tits, sparrows, robin, collard doves, magpies and a fly over Little egret was a new one for the garden list
As the weather has turned colder more birds are visiting the garden. Blue & great tits, wrens, sparrows, robin, magpies & and a crow. Just the day for sitting and watching the feeders with a nice cup of tea. May even have a slice of cake as well.
Just as dawn was breaking this morning, i heard a blackbird singing in the distance. This is quite normal this time of year, especially when its mild. A few bursts as if he's tuning up ready for the spring song. Lovely to hear the melodic notes at any time.
A pleasant hour spent on Deal pier. A nice mix of gannets, divers, a curlew, kittiwake and plenty of great black backs
Lovely autumn morning yesterday at kearsney Abbey/Russel gardens Dover. Sat on a bench watching the black headed gulls, listening to the Robins & the calling goldcrests & long tailed tits.
This sparrowhawk was living up to its name after successfully catching a house sparrow in my garden this morning

Great Farthingloe, 7am before the rain . Large movement of hirundines, mainly House Martins, scattering of chiffs & blackcaps.

Abbots cliffe, a nice mix of whitethroats , lesser whitethroats, willow warblers, chiffs, reed warblers, wheatear, Whinchat and a juv cuckoo over the last couple of days. The juv cuckoo still present this morning near the nissen huts

A lovely morning stroll around Worth marshes today. Red kite, Avocet, great white egret, gadwall, shoveler, plenty of Sedge warbs. Banded demoielles & wall butterflies
