EVERY ADULT should know this hand signal to show someone is in danger or being held against their will:

I hear what you mean : ) Some of it reminds of the sound of typewriters... and other parts sound sort of scolding: 'So I told you... again and again, WAIT for the hawk to pass before you leave the nest!!' Great clip.... thanks for sharing, Stephen. Bird song is such a delight...and very inscrutable.

The best photographers always say that... good to be prepared for those 'lucky' moments : )

It feels like yesterday that online-engineers-of-a-certain-age were saying that heavy freight could never be electrified. To quote William Gibson, "The future is here. It’s just not widely distributed yet." Fossil fuel interests want to keep it that way.
Rachel Reeves, Chris Mcdonald, Ed Miliband, Keir Starmer. All wearing fluorescent jackets.
Great how your phone gives you memories.
It's two years to the day since Rachel Reeves told me if Labour won the general election they would send the National Audit Office in to investigate the Teesworks saga.
The authority responsible hasn't published audited accounts since then, yet nothing.
"Just as we make ourselves more energy-secure by switching from fossil fuels to renewables, we make ourselves more food-secure by switching from animals to plants." - @georgemonbiot.bsky.social
I didn't mean to turn this into a short thread, but once I started ranting ...
So here it is, on one page: skywriter.blue/@georgemonbi...
THIS.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to speak my mind, to state what I believe even when it's directly at odds with billionaire power. I'm among the minority allowed to do it. But it's not a privilege. It's a right. And everyone should possess it.
You really capture their colour (*a challenge with reds), and the way the light makes them glow... 💚

Water after water, hour after hour. Spilling, pooling, churning, descending.
Singing its endless song.
The individual has LOTS to say... always wonder, is there a specific 'meaning' to bird song or is it an extended riff, like a musical phrase, which also may convey meaning, but not in the same way? Perhaps bird 'calls' are more specific, but 'songs' are mating related or for territorial purposes?
As I made clear yesterday, this whole issue about Starmer not being told about Mandelson, failing vetting, is being framed in the wrong way, probably deliberately i.e. a red herring.
The issue is not, that no one told Starmer, but why didn't Starmer ask?

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil.
It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.
