Extremely satisfying to make a simple, delicious, and straight-to-the-point cheese pizza.

Recent work by Stefanie Stantcheva confirms an old argument by Robert Shiller: people don't think of wage rises and price increases as part of a common process, they attribute wages to their own efforts and prices as an external imposition.

No doubt linked to downward nominal wage rigidity

Responding to follow along. But I’ve been wondering about this also & how it connects to the argument in “Why Wages Don't Fall during a Recession” that firms resist lowering wages because of the morale effect.

If nominal wage cuts are perceived as punishment then wage gains are perceived as reward?

Four bluesky features I’d like to have (or discover they exist):

(1) Bookmarking posts
(2) Direct messages
(3) Tagging people without the “.bsky.social”
(4) Drafts

I’m interested in within-poster, cross-platform post variation but sadly don’t think this thread will help me. 😊

I am an economist at LinkedIn where I currently work on (micro & macro) labor research topics. But for my first 2 years at LinkedIn I worked on practical causal inference/experimentation/auction design problems.
